Hey, well obviously am not Darik but I also struggled with the same thing for years. I used to think God must hate me for him to ignore my struggles. I used to plan out my life and actually start going through with it for a week then crash. Jesus Christ showed up in my life when I least expected him. It's been a year since he started cleaning my heart. And I think the first step he took me through was repentance. Then he started teaching me his ways. How I should wait for his plan in my life rather than take the matter into my own hands. The most important thing he taught me was how to listen to his voice. I hear him when I pray, when I read his words, when I attend liturgy, when I repent, when I go to church, and whenever I seek his kingdom, I hear him clearly. And his plans are to give us peace, in Jeremiah 29:11 it says " For I know the plans I have for you declares the lord plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." So leave everything to him and watch how his grace fills your life. I honestly don't know why I wanted to reply to your comment, since I am just a sinful person who doesn't know how to talk properly forgive my lack of knowledge and ask God to guide you. And these are some verses I always read whenever I feel like am not enough or God forgot about me, 2 Corinthians 12:9, Isaiah 40:31, 1 Peter 5:10, 2 chronicles 20: 15-17. Oh, and the book of Psalms.
