In building muscle, there’s clearly a point where you can start to sacrifice parts of your athleticism for strength. Things like dexterity, coordination, feel can suffer. You just have to find that balance where you’re allowing YOUR body to give YOUR peak performance.

Garrett, first off congratulations on one million "subs" (I am of course one of them). Now about your resistance training: You need to do some research on large and small (fast twitch) muscle development. Along with your larger muscles (legs, back, chest, etc) the smaller ones develop as well. This nuance has more of effect on your short game and wedges, as your swing isn't usually as full. I know this as I suffered through the same thing a number of years ago (I'm over 70 now). Dial the scoring clubs in with practice. I know that you will get it right. You play a great game and I hate to see you suffering! Play well and take care.

I put a lot of muscle on last winter and spring, so this summer I had to relearn my swing with my new strength. It's definitely a real thing. I'm happy about my gains, but it's annoying to have to work on other parts of my life to deal with being stronger

It happens to me as well. I’m a 5 handicap and what I do is I just go to the range and hit my wedges multiple times and it’s helps me everytime I’m uncomfortable with something.
