Hullo Dragos, I am a Pastelmat fan too. I just wish they had better customer service and quality controls! I have gotten some very questionable surfaces and it is just so expensive for this to be a continuing problem! I know UArt is a very good sanded paper, I found that Premier Pastel Paper I purchased at Dakota Pastels to be a very nice sanded paper too! I am also glad to see Canson leveling up to a velvet paper! It has been getting good reviews and excellent videos on KZbin! I might have purchased my last sheet or pad of Pastelmat! Thank you for sharing the blocking in methods that you use, I have watched several artists do this and all agree that it is truly an important step! I have used make-up sponges when I have not been able to find or afford the soft-touch end pieces. They work better for me than cotton birds or Q-Tips! Hello! I've also gotten some very bad quality pieces from Pastelmat in the past. Make-up bruses are indeed a great cheap option, I also use them sometimes.
