Likely if you just started, you don't need to file for an LLC and you can continue to operate under a sole proprietorship. Selling sneakers isn't likely something you'll be sued over. And if you need to pay over 1000$ in taxes, you'll need to start paying quarterly estimated taxes to the IRS. If you're under that, you can file for the entire year come regular tax season. Best idea is to talk to an accountant they'll know what's best for your situation

To do it properly, you file before 20k. The 20k threshold is only when PayPal/eBay/a lot of platforms deems you big enough to report to the IRS. Before that, you're still technically supposed to file, but the sites just don't report you to the IRS bc it's not worth their time

You speaking mad facts!!! I appreciate it. Question though, do you need a LLC, and to avoid paying “actually” taxes couldn’t you buy up shoes in December to match the profits, so your basically carrying a “Lost” into the new year?Lol unless this info will be on the next episode. Keep it coming.
@SniperKicks3 жыл бұрын
Great question! You do not have to do a LLC! I will make another video on that! Yes you can! That’s how a lot of wealthy people “avoid” paying taxes. Jeff Bezos from Amazon!

Inventory doesn’t count against ur profit lol it doesn’t matter what u sitting on, it matters what u paid for an item and what u sold it for. The difference is gross profit. Minus ur expenses that’s ur net profit. Expenses like website boxes tape gas etc. Now what u could do is buy some personals I think and expense those but the second u sell one it’s no longer an expensed item it’s profit. If u do what u saying tax time comes and u gonna be like I ain’t got it. Lol

@SniperKicks3 жыл бұрын
@@sneakerhead4770 remember ANYTHING you buy for your business is an expense. So yes buying shoes in December and sitting on them is expense. But you can’t sell those shoes in December or that will count as profit for that calendar year.

You are suppose to file taxes on your business regardless. BUT PayPal and other sites will report when you make $20,000 gross revenue, not profit.
