It is a HOT climate down here in south Georgia!
Coming from up north, I have had to relearn how to grow vegetables! I'd like to share with you all what the BIGGEST MISTAKE was that we have made in trying to grow our own food down here, and how we FIXED IT!
Thanks for dropping by!
Here's a link to the company that we bought shadecloth from:
www.agricultur...
Very happy with our order!
You can find some of the seeds we are growing here:

That shade house is a great idea! I'm also in south GA and this sun in July and August is relentless!

Thank you for the video! I moved to GA from Utah last Sept 2021 and In that short time I realized that my normal gardening know-how was completely turned upside down :D it's currently February and I see veggie plants already being put out at the store. Looking forward to learning and growing even better

Lol! I feel you! We moved to NW GA last July from NorCal and I have definitely been re-evaluating my garden know-how that I learned from my mom back in the 70s.

0:02 You're telling me. We had a successful acre of garden up in the north west growing up as kids. The biggest issue was trying to keep deer out of it. As an adult, I recently moved into the Memphis area. At first I was super excited. The top soil is 7 inches deep, loamy, and black! No need to manure or fertilizer! But, I have never seen plants like rhubarb rot from the roots up. The first attempt at the garden failed. I'm told raised beds are the way to go.

Ain't all this the truth. Full sun in south GA is NOT the same as full sun in MI lol. I'm glad I finally found a gardening tube that has the same climate as mine!

You have a wonderful little assistant there. Do you really buy dandelion seeds? Good grief they grow everywhere here in the UK they are considered a weed. Love the shade House.

Thanks! She's a keeper. ;) Haha! It is considered a weed here as well, but for some reason, the area we live in is devoid of them! I have no idea why they arent just growing in our yard, but I got tired of trying to find some somewhere local, and broke down and just ordered a pack of seeds. They make great salad greens, and you can even roast the root and make a sort of coffee. Thanks for stopping by!! :D

When I was a kid(1960's) Everyone had dandelions and clover white and purple in their yards and fields. After oesticides evolved and homeowners became obsessed with having lawns that look like a golf course, they came back less and less.

@@robinh.524 That's a shame. I like a nice lawn I also like a wild patch. It's a constant job keeping the two separate but it keeps me out of trouble for a while lol.

I live in a place with zone 1 gardening and am contemplating moving to the South. My need for a year round garden is why I'm doing this. Thanks for the lessons.

We just moved to Northwest GA this past summer from NorCal where I was born and raised(52yrs in one state was quite enough I think lol). The house we bought has a wonderful permanent greenhouse with a shade cloth over it and we also have some raised beds from the previous owner. I’ve subscribed to your channel because my NorCal gardening does not translate to GA/TN(we are 10min from the TN border and about 20min from AL border). Hoping to get a garden started soon! ❤️
