They have more senses than parents do sometimes. The judges can tell what parents forced their kids into pagentry, or made them do a competition on a day when the child obviously needed rest. My heart broke watching that little girl cry. The mom's mistake was not cancelling her daughters' spot and taking her home to let her rest and have time off.

Every kid works hard. There ought to be some parameters. In an ideal world there would be no child pageants. But when we have them, meltdowns, falling, crying everything should be accounted for. It's unfair to kids who wouldn't do these things.

It's staged, but that doesn't absolve anyone involved in the show's production. Except for the poor kids, of course, since they had no choice in the matter, and I hope none of them end up emulating the Menendez brothers when they're older. :-o And to think TLC was once The Learning Channel... :-(

The last one bothers me yea she lost focus and didn't do the routine correctly but you should still reward her with the stuffed puppy. She still let you doll her up and got on that stage all for you.

Nahh no way!! That's how kids learn they can choose not to listen to the parents & still be rewarded for not doing what was expected of them. Hell no lol. Definitely didn't earn the puppy with that awful creepy ass blank stare, tripping over herself & standing there doing whatever TF she wants. Yaaa no. Maybe take her out to dinner to celebrate being in a pageant but no stuffed puppy for a garbage ass routine. Sorry for being so harsh

Which is sick the child should be just that a CHILD not a barbie doll for you to put on stage for the parents own sick desires to see a 6 year old look like a 21 year old model.

It’s never about the kids, it’s always about the parents. I feel so bad for the kids. Some of them don’t even want to do the pageant but their parents force them. I could never wake my exhausted child up for this. Not at an age when they can't even express if they even want to be a show pony. Breaks my heart. Let that baby sleep. The only reason I can even think of why they would is money. Whether it be winning it and/or getting a "return on their investment" via titles, I don't know, dealers choice. But either way it's awful. If someone knows another less shitty possible reason I would love to hear it. Because like I said mine is awful.
