You will never be able to do so entirely because there are too many things that are relevant for that issue: map designs, unblanaced perks (some perks are way too strong COMPARED to other perks -, even though it already got better), some Killer designs but mainly because of the map designs since you cannot ignore one component when looking at the other. That fact that it is a 4v1 will always make some people FEEL like it was kinda unfair or imbalanced. People need to calm down... and we all know that this will never happen in most gaming communities. Check comments, steam reviews, reddit... they are full of toxic stuff I almost every multiplayer

Never gonna happen as long as the game lives. There’ll always be a divide between people who play only survivor or only killer. It also goes for people who play both sides. One side is always going to be losing regardless. Also the idea of 2 dead and 2 escape which BHVR want isn’t that common, it’s either a full out or 3/4k plus hatch. It’s just a fact of life in DBD I think

DBD shouldn't be about gen rush/gen slow imo. Should be more about chasing which is honestly more fun than kicking gens or pressing space every once in 20 seconds or so.

@@madbombermedia3070 which is why I think that DbD really needs another objective for survivors to extend the game... noone with a few hundred hours in the game likes sitting on a gen holding M1 with a skillcheck every now and again, so extending gen times should be off the table. But if you give the Killer more time to chase I think the game would be more fun even without gen slowdown and gen progression perks

@@RodDeWitt Eruption isn’t the problem. I use eruption all the time and half the time I don’t ever actually hit people with it that often. I also play a lot of survivor and even if I’m hit with eruption it’s not the end of the world. It’s only ever screwed me over once when I could sabo a hook to get my friends off. On both swf and solo queue I’ve had literally zero actual problems with the perk. If anything Call of Brine and overcharge are more annoying. Instead of bitching about perks how about we stop the childish behavior complaining about things that aren’t even actually a big deal.

Its true. Like Spooknjukes said in his video too, your fun in the game is on you!! you can't expect killers to bring "fun" perks for to YOU have a good time. I find while playing if killers bring oppressive builds we do what needs to be done to counter it and play in a way that works around the build (get off gens before hook animation, try our best to not get incapacitated, double gens to get them done quick, etc. Same on killer side, if you're up against boil over sabo squad, just slug, or flashy teams, just bait them out and down them. It's about loading into a match with a plan, then doing what you gotta do to your original plan to win, SOMETIMES IT DOESNT HAPPEN!! sometimes you lose. These babies can't get over the fact that they can't bully the other side and laugh at them and have it easy every match.

I don't bother with Twitter. Never even knew there was a controversy over this. I run Call of Brine, Eruption, No Where to Hide, and Brutal Strength on my Knight. Never had anyone complain in chat.

The radius change is a brilliant fix and Im shocked this is the first time I'm hearing someone suggest it. I love the game n i come n go but i just get so tired of the community. "My sides justified but the other sides satan". I play both sides, but I fully admit I lean Killer. And I fully believe Killer is in a far better spot now or back in Nov 2022 when I came back than when I left in Sept 2021. And yet? I would argue outside of 3-5~ Killers, survivors still have the advantage to varying degrees. Even against those 3-5, survivors can have an edge. If every survivor ran CoconutRTS' build, for example? They could have 4 potential gens that finish within 30 seconds. That's the length of a chase for 1 hit vs a competent survivor who doesnt make a mistake. If 1's being chased, then thats still 3 gens gone, for 1 hit. In less than a minute. We have myriad of videos from Coconut, From Tru3, from Spook, Im sure from you, from Zubat, from Otz, MYRIADS of videos of gens. 2 gens in 30 seconds. 5 gens in under 5 minutes. 4 gens in 2:30. Etc. etc. That shits been happening for 2 years now. If something is truly problematic, truly an issue, then fine; nerf it. But if its evolved to deal with a problem, nerfing the solution without buffing other stuff will not solve the issue. Otz did a video awhile back, and he found that outside of a few changes (WoO spike, BT -> OTR, etc.) the vast majority of perks (Resilience, DH, Adren, to name a few) have remained the most top perks for survivors. The meta shake up changed things only a bit in the long term for survivors but massively for Killer. They need to do it again, and make it every mid chapter or every other mid chapter. But realistically? The game needs to address core design problems. Survivors can do gens way too quickly with coordination (be it the new UI or comms or w/e). Now you add in toolboxes or BNP, you add in hyperfocus or Potential Energy or Prove, and shit flies. So killers take what they can to slow it down. They take DMS, They take deadlock, they take eruption or pop, brine or overcharge, jolt or than. And when those dont work, either cause they're too easily avoided/countered or they're nerfed, they change tactics. They slug more, they tunnel. They camp. Realistically the devs need to dial back the strength of PROGRESSION perks, they need to reduce the strength of REGRESSION perks, and they need to revitalize SLOWDOWN perks. Because I've always seen REGRESSION and SLOWDOWN as different. Old sloppy was SLOWDOWN. (New sorta is, but if they dont heal its irrelevant). Old old ruin was SLOWDOWN. Old ruin was REGRESSION with minor slowdown (But high risk cause hex). Pop was REGRESSION. Deadlock is slowdown. Thrilling Tremors is slowdown. Pinheads gimmick is slowdown. Pigs is slowdown. Wesker and Nemesis are slowdown. The devs need to look at nerfing the strength of doing gens too quickly in how strong perks and/or items are. And they need to look at balancing strength between regress and prevent/slow. The more Killers can take perks that let them slow the gens/game down, the more likely they are to not camp/tunnel unless they *have to*. But if they start nerfing regression again, then the 'scum tactics' will increase. And if they start making stuff stronger base kit or outright basekitg to counter 'scum tactics', then killers will adapt or leave. Thats always the end goal. If they nerf progression without nerfing regression, survivor will be hell. If they nerf regression without progression being dropped, killer will be (Even more) hell. They must address it all at a multi-angled approach and then dial up/down adjustments as needed. Because right now theres a multi-prong issue with balance and if they focus on any one prong too much, the others will stab back.

Well said in that last part! I really don't have a problem with Eruption on EITHER side and, in fact, I was overjoyed to see it buffed because I thought it was a great perk when it first came out. Admittedly it's a little rough for solo queue, but in my opinion it just needs the Incapacitated effect reduced by 5-10 seconds to make it a smidge less obnoxious, maybe bump up the insta-regression to compensate. Better yet, perhaps a kicked gen could become highlighted in yellow for survivors. That way they know to expect Eruption and they have the choice of attempting a repair at the risk of becoming Incapacitated, or ignore it to find a new gen to work on. I dunno, on the whole I really don't think it needs that much of a change. So long as they don't gut my precious Jolt/Surge though...

I don’t mind eruption. The issue is, it is never just eruption. It’s eruption, pain res, call of brine, overcharge, merciless storm, etc. It’s never one gen regression perk. It’s always 4. As a solo player, it’s literal pain. Just because we can see what teammates are doing now, does not mean they are doing what they should be. 😂

Survivors are still memeing, trolling, griefing, farming envelopes and ofcourse - suiciding on hook, with zero consequences, while killers are trying harder than ever before. Until a vote to surrender is added, the game will always be a shitfest.

For example yesterday I played against a Billy and an Ada forced herself on 2nd state for no reason because the killer was still working hard to get his kill and then a Cheryl let herself die on 2nd hook like why? After both died me and the Jake got the gens completed by then. All 5 gens were done and poor Jake died saving me and he let go of hook so that I can get the hatch. The killer literally had a free W handed to him because 2 survivors chose to die on 2 hooks as if it’s anyone’s fault they were going down. Now I know why swf’s are always gonna be a thing because who wants to deal with ppl like that? The ones who throw the game for everyone else and don’t care just because they don’t like the game… they involve everyone else to their problems and it’s just bad.

Deadhead nerfed, the endgame for survivors were nerfed, vaulting speeds nerfed, the weak ass anti tunneling kit they thought was gonna help didn't do a damn thing, flashlights nerf. Compared to the killer side they have a landslide of buffs compared to survivors it's just not fun anymore, use to like the game but I truly hate that game and it's hard for me to hate a game I put alot of hours into

I think eruption would be fine if they just turned the time it lasted down, 25 seconds is a lifetime in DBD. Not being able to heal, chew, swallow, or spit for 25 seconds even if your one survivor pal is down right next to you, you cant get them up. Though I can never be upset at killers who run it, if they don't run it they'll face 12 dead hards and a 56 charge med-kit with a school lunch in tow.

Pretty much yea, survivors tend to bring incredibly strong perks, camouflaged characters, powerful items with strong addons and a map offering. If i choose to use a killer without antiloop, with subpar perks and not too good addons, and then get absolutely destroyed, it is really the other sides fault for bringing strong stuff and playing to win (usually with a lot of t bagging at the gate)? If I want to win, then I should give myself a good chance at doing so, especially since the other team will most likely do the same.

I started running legion with eruption and call of brine and I had people saying I was bad at the game for using 2 perks I prestige 2 different characters for yet they wouldn’t complain about it if they ran killer I normally run 1-1 on both survivor and killer so I’m balanced on both and put blood points into what ever I need them in based off which side I want to prestige and I don’t know why people complain about it perks are ment to be a road block not a wide open gate that’s why dead hard exists it makes it harder and last longer

I think the stark issue with call of brine/eruption/overcharge rn is that it's not just an issue with regression. It's how incredibly strong they are in tandem with each other, rather than by themselves. Couple that with something like nowhere to hide & lethal, and a really good 3 gen (as shown in hens's video), it's a recipe for basically a free win. Perks in DBD need to be where more than a few things can be truly viable at both high and low level play, rather than a few select really strong slowdown perks, and a few select really strong gen speed perks.

What if they had a perkless and no add-on mode where it was just bare bones gameplay? Do you think that might help with balancing? This way the devs could get a better idea of how strong or how weak a killer really is.

You cant tell how strong or how weak a killer really is no matter what. If you get top 1% killer to go against top 1% survivors they will stomp that killer, if you get top 1% killer to go against top 5% survivors he might get 1-2K. Take a look at DbD tournaments and look at how they play it just to get 1K.

I stopped playing this game because it was just not fun. Like as a survivor, i feel like 6 out of 10 games someone will leave, and the game just becomes that much harder to enjoy. Plus, everyone is just trying to win, which makes it so everyone is having a bad time. I haven't played in months, couldn't be happier, and no want to go back.

Man, Rip Eruption. It was a cool perk while it lasted. Now with the new and improved UI every game feels really sweaty. I'm just going to play solo survivor. Because if you can't beat them... join them.

Really enjoyed this clip compilation! 100% agree with you, it’s a shame that people are constantly put on blast for using the perks they wanna play with. (Killers and survivors). Use what you find fun, if you didn’t like the game you just played, queue up for next or take a break if it was too harsh.

The perk that actually got me to quit was off the record. I'm partially deaf in both ears, one side more than the other, and I had a hard time hearing survivor noises to begin with. After getting absolutely ruined by a SWF running that perk it was enough for me to put the game down. Thing is, it's not a problem most of the time, but when I get railroaded it actually makes me feel helpless and makes me feel my hearing loss more than I'd like.

@@meiyami93 The problem with off the record is that they can take a free hit or lead me on a chase and I can't tell if they have it or not. Not being able to hear survivors at all compared to barely isn't as big of a difference. I only hate it because if I could tell if they have it then I'd know not to take the bait hit or go on a fruitless chase. People running iron will against me was in my favor if anything because they actually had a useless perk. "Oh no, I can't hear you! How disorienting and foreign to not be able to hear survivors!" Like, for reals my dude why would you think that's the part I care about? lol

Erruption is fair. if we have to wait out dead hard they can wait out erruption. i think both perks should just be removed though for a healthier game

You can’t really compare the two tho. DH is literally a split second to wait out. compared to eruption that is a whole 30 seconds of not being able to do anything. I feel killers would feel the same if survivors had a perk that didn’t let them kick gens/walls or pick up or hook survivors for a whole 30 seconds. In dbd time is everything! I think spooky said it best the best fix for eruption is to make TR based.

@@annsanchez4803 you havnt played enough killer then. a well positioned deadhard near a pellet canm mean you cant wait cause they will use the pallet but if you do hit they dead hard. and there you go for another 30 second loop if you are unlucky. so i 100% disagree. i think they still both just need to go. shake it up wildly. deadhard has always been meta and this needs to change

I think people just need to enjoy to game and moments like this. You said it in an earlier video spooky, if one side wins the other side suffers so you play the best you can and just have fun with it instead of taking it so seriously.

I echo the sentiment at the end, I've had whiny comments at end game chat about my perks or because I got a fast 4k and it's like DUDE, I'm just playing my role in this game. It's like they want me to spawn in and just be a doormat for them to pad their points and win ratio or something, I'm here to play the game also. I mostly play to win but I've also had some really funny times with survivors and let them live and even memed around with them. At the end of the day it's literally JUST A GAME YOU PLAY FOR FUN. We're not at a tournament to win a ton of money, I'm sitting in my room after a long day at work trying to have FUN, and so many people miss that point. Love you SpookyLoopz for being a voice of reason.

Ty spooky for speaking about this. Eruption was my fav killer perk (until no where to hide). Now it feels like its being gutted rather then just nerfed. Kinda sucks to lose a great slow down perk when (to me most games if I dont run slow down) it kinda feels like gens pop so fast now.

As someone who plays both sides: eruption is the most unfun perk to go against hands down. Nobody likes going against a perk that locks them out of doing the main thing you're supposed to do in a match with absolutely no counterplay unless you're on coms or you wait an indefinite time for someone to go down before you touch the gen again.

hey Spooky, i have an idea for a build! the whole theme is taking away dbd's main mechanics from survivors, with Lightborn to invalidate flashlights, a lot of broken perks like Hysteria or Forced Pennance to invalidate healing, and to top it all off, put it on Legion with iri pin + susie's to invalidate pallets, or Pyramid Head to invalidate hooks (cages) love ur content man!

honestly i play this game mainly with 1 other friend and 9/10 times the worst part of DBD is not the killer or their perks or survivors and theirs.. its your teammates.. #1 reason i die is from teammates farming off the hook with the killer 2 steps away or hiding in some corner of the map or never leaving lockers.
