Im against VAR... because there is VAR and this shit still happens. England Vs Netherlands semi-final 2024 EC Where was the VAR? Ref. can decide to not ask the VAR, VAR can decide to inform or NOT inform the Ref. Both can decide to look at 2 seconds before the foul, Both can decide to look at 10 seconds before the foul, both can decide to not look at anything if the favourite team is winning or behind and it needs to be helped. If the country that gets the penalty itself has all their mainstream media and analists and former football legends scream that it wasnt a justified penalty... then you know enough. And that was BEFORE news came out there was a handsball 1.5 seconds before Kane got 'fouled' which gave them the penalty. VAR is a disgrace... Fifa and Uefa decide when to use it and how to use it and if not, its gambling refs that do it. (the ref that handled the match was convicted of matchfixing a few years back btw.) How in the hell was he leading a WORLD CUP SEMI FINAL? because it needed to be fixed!

The Irish team back in 2010 was a pretty decent line up with Shay Givens as GK, Oshea as DC, Damien Duff was an exciting RMid (altho he was past 30at this point), and Robbie Keane was also really good too! They only had a couple of great players, but they worked as a unit. non of them were legendary, but i thought highly of robbie keane and damien duff, and felt like they deserved better recognition. France, while had many individual stars, always seemed to under performed during that era. Hugo Lloris was up there as one of the best keepers (maybe not S-class like Neuer, Buffon, Kahn or Schmeichel, but he would at the top of the A-Class). Patrice Evra, William Gallas, Abidal, Sagna, and Mexes in Defence, a legendary Thierry Henry along with some top tier offense in Franck Fibery, Louis Saha, Djibril Cisse,, Karim Benzema and the incredible sulk, Nicolas Anelka. I'm not sure if its the attitude or characters of the players but they just never did as great as they should.
