I just want to beat up to 7-99, the entire Cosmic Ocean in Spelunky 2. My brain will not allow me the pleasure of making it, even when the Gods pave the way for me to win. Please support me in this trying time.

Damn, that sucks. But don't give up, you will get the 7-99 dub im sure of it. I had plenty of "perfect" runs that ended because of my stupidity, but thats the beauty of this game. You always get killed by something you don't expect and slowly you get more experienced and learn to avoid even the smallest bullshit run ending mistakes. You don't even realize how much you learn from your mistakes. Sorry for my rambling, I just love this game even if sometimes I really hate it. And also, this video was quite enjoyable and well edited, yoz deserve more subs:) Oh and the music selection was great:D

Sun Challenge can go so wrong so fast... also there's a different, more obscure game I like where projectiles frequently knock you in the wrong direction and mess you up, so now I call it "knock-forward" whenever I see it

good tip for the sun challenge: when you go to the top left/right, whip the bubble blocks and then bomb the enemy dispenser. You should be able to avoid confronting any enemies for the rest of the challenge other than the 1 you might find when you get to the top. This comes from someone who's failed the sun challenge a lot so don't take my word as gospel lol.

I feel the pain hope you have made it to 7-99. I believe I had a worse choke. I did basically the same thing except I accidentally dropped the bow in the purple bubbles on Hun Dun and lost the bow.

@@medola- I usually just destroy the second spawner on the bottom floor that is further from the exit. From there, I just spam whip under the spawner that is above the player bag spawn area. bonus points if i have excalibur

Thanks! You can definitely get to Eggplant, if you cant get an eggplant from an altar, you may want to try using a teleporter or Telepack to get into the eggplant cave from a nearby vault. The luck on getting eggplant runs, and the difficulty of juggling it is a lot. Good luck!

idk if this is as bad as mine had 99 hp, buncha items, cloned sun challenge's bag of stuff getting me tons of ropes and bombs, kapala, and even eggplant crown. then i made it to 7-4. and guess what i didnt even realize i left the bow on 7-1 all because i was rushing to get into eggplant world

I got Spelunky 7-99. The BEST tip I can give is to learn from each and every death you have inside the cosmic ocean, even if they seem like you couldn't have done anything about it. If you don't search for ways to imrpove, you will keep having the same deaths multiple times, so try your best to learn from each and every death. It took me 46 deaths inside the cosmic ocean (and 68 real life days of daily playing) to reach 7-99, and I got extremely lucky. The second best tip, would be to not give up.

One time my friends and i made it to Hundun with the arrow of light and the bow. A friend died on the way up. The other two and I made it and killed Hundun but the one fighting him died at the end of the fight accidentally falling in spikes with the arrow of light and bow. I went to go get it but I guess i stopped floating like right above the spikes or something because they impaled me and i died (literally shouldn’t of but the game disagrees). Our last friend had a yellow cape and came from the top right to grab the bow in the spikes and hit the corner of a purple block while floating down and just fell straight into the spikes…

Ya know is you stand still in the mothers hands(where you put the child) for like 20 seconds you get 4 health. For free. Just sit still for 20 seconds amd boom 4 free health. Not a lot of people know that.

I feel your pain!!! My record is 7-80 for cosmic ocean, which I got the other day. My farthest attempts have been on runs where I had terrible luck early on, then the game apologizes for like 70 levels and then is like you know what screw you..🤣🤣🤣 I didn’t get to clone the corpse bag or even get it anyway on my 7-80 run, and janky physics with climbing gloves and vlads cape caused me to lose my ankh on 7-6. But aside from almost dying between 20 and 30 times I say it was a good run..🤣🤣🤣 I hope on Wednesday I’ll get to have my first CO win!!! I’ve only been 17 times; my 10th to 7-79 and my 16th to 7-80.

Congratulations. I’m keeping all my plays on the same system so my stats are actually accurate. I have a note thing in my notes app and it has all my major accomplishments and all the times I broke my record for CO and other stuff and I have another page for all my cosmic ocean runs ever. If you want to look at it, here they are. I give a little bit of detail with each: (apparently only recently did I start putting the number of plays on the cosmic ocean runs page..) Cosmic ocean page: First cosmic ocean run, to 7-5, on Sunday, 1/9/22. Died by fall damage due to being thrown into the horizontal loop. Second cosmic ocean, to 7-14, on Friday, 1/14/22. Died by 2 celestial jelly’s teaming up. Third cosmic ocean run, to 7-7, on Saturday, 1/15/22. Died by celestial jelly. Fourth cosmic ocean run, to 7-14 (again…😭) died to jetpack exploding because of a spark trap in Neo Babylon. Friday 3/18/22 Fifth cosmic ocean run to 7-19, died in 7-17 due to vertical spikes and being bounced into them, and in 7-19 due to fall damage in vertical loop because of so little health. Friday-Saturday 3/(25-26)/22 Sixth cosmic ocean run to 7-59, died due to being sprung into vertical spikes. Saturday-Sunday 3/(26-27)/22 Seventh cosmic ocean run, to 7-29, died by fall damage. Saturday 4/2/22. Eighth Cosmic ocean run, to 7-7, died by fall damage. Wednesday 6/1/22 (was also going fast on purpose because I had like 2 hours to play.) Ninth Cosmic ocean run, to 7-29. Died first in 7-8 by spikes from short stun from Jiang Shi, then in 7-29 by falling after a crocman threw me. (Lots of glitching after 7-10). 7/9/22. Tenth Cosmic ocean run, to 7-78. Died in ice caves first due to rushing and a yeti threw me, and then by spikes after a short stun from a spider (I was placed on a clock, until midnight and I had around 40 levels left and 20 minutes to do it). Eleventh Cosmic ocean run, to 7-14. Died first to Hundun, and got poisoned on 7-7, and then died due to an Olmite (pretty much suicide due to about to die from poison). This was a speedy run for me, and I died at 41:39. 7/13/22. Twelfth Cosmic ocean run, to 7-11. Died due to bear trap in 4-2, and then died from a celestial jelly from lack of i-frames after accidentally entering and then exiting from a sunken city pipe into the jelly (very angering). 7/14/22 Thirteenth run to 7-14, died first due to celestial jelly because I’m an idiot..🤣🤣 died second to ufo explosion due to low health and 2 spawned right above me, so I hit one and it blew the other my direction.. 9/11/22 Sunday 2843 plays. Fourteenth run to 7-22, eggplant crown✨, died first due to telefragged by crocman, then to being shot by a sorcerer and then poisoned and then died from jelly. 10/14/22 Friday 2927 plays. Fifteenth run to 7-80. Died first to celestial jelly aided by climbing gloves… and died the second time when rushing to the exit and a spark trap hit me and stunned me and the celestial jelly got me. I didn’t even get to clone the corpse bag or get it at all from the sun challenge. Saturday to Sunday 1/7/23 to 1/8/23 3212 plays. (First time playing in weeks..) Sixteenth run to 7-8. Died in Hundun due to crappy water physics and I died in 7-8 to a crocman throwing me into a celestial jelly. Sunday 1/8/23 3215 plays. Seventeenth run to 7-11, died both times to celestial jelly in the same level. An extra bubble popped and I couldn’t hear it. Sunday 1/15/23 3329 plays My milestone page, which I haven’t updated my CO record on yet: First played spelunky 2: Monday 12/20/21 349 plays to first ending. (From tide pool) Thursday 12/23/21 392 plays to first ending from beginning, & speedlunky too in the same run.. Friday 12/24/21 424 plays to seeded runs, Friday 12/31/21 (Unseeded run, and I haven’t done a seeded run yet to it). 497 Plays to Cosmic Ocean, Sunday, 1/9/22. I made it to 7-5, and died by getting knocked unconscious by the third orb and falling into the horizontal loop and dying via fall damage. 672 plays to 7-14, Friday, 1/14/22. Died to 2 jelly’s.. 767 plays to second ending from beginning, Saturday 1/22/22. I got a jetpack and then a mattock from crates. Almost did my first Qilin skip: the one rope bubble skip.. (:) 822 plays, unseeded, Saturday, 2/12/22 1056 plays to 7-19, died in 7-17 due to vertical spikes and in 7-19 due to fall damage in just the vertical loop because I had so little health. An extremely lucky run. Friday-Saturday 3/25-26)/2022 1061 plays to 7-59, died in 7-40 due to a secondary celestial jelly chasing me in a volcana level and I jumped up twice with my vlads cape but a firebug was shooting fire so I went the wrong direction and fell into the jelly. I died in 7-59 because I was going too fast [because I was poisoned with 7 hp and had been poisoned with about 7 continuously since 7-45] and I ran right onto a spring trap and hit upside down spikes. I also had 7 hired hands when I blew them all up in 7-3 so they wouldn’t mess up the Hundun fight. I had been collecting.. This run was ridiculously amazing, especially for my 6th run ever to the CO. I was gonna heal up a lot with a mummy but he got telefragged by a crocman, so I only got like 6 health (as I had 5 health due to poison nabbing at me but me trying to heal up faster than it) and I got to like 11 health before the mummy died. This was also a shield run. I got a metal shield from a pangxie in 7-5, 7-6, or 7-7. I think it was 7-7 though. Anyway I got a metal shield from a pangxie and used it soooooo so much , it’s ridiculous. This happened between Saturday-Sunday, 3/(26-27)/22. I made it 56% of the way through the CO on my 6th try!!! 1517 plays to 7-78, I died in the ice caves after sacrificing like 3 of my 6 hired hands and I had 1 health, and I was rushing and a yeti threw me, and I exited from Abzu with 1 heart and had 2 or 3 seconds before the next poison tic got me, but I got Monty in. I was around 7-60ish when Tracy told me that I had until midnight to finish because he wanted to play his game, and it was 11:40 at night, so I went through over 15 levels in 15 minutes, before I died at 11:55, due to me rushing and whipping too late and a spider short-stunned me into spikes in 7-78. By far my best run and I’m fairly certain if I could have taken my time then I would have beaten the game the true way. I made it 82.7% through the game and 78.72% through the cosmic ocean. By FAR my best run. My tenth time to the cosmic ocean. This happened on Sunday, 7/10/22. I did my first Low% completion on Thursday, 7/14/22, in 8:11.25, which was also my fastest run. 1606 plays. I did a sunken city no tp speedrun in 11:45.883, at 1608 plays, on Thursday, 7/14/22. I did an any% speedrun in around 6 minutes and 40 seconds on 1744 plays, but then on 1747 plays, I did an any% speedrun in 4:44.533, which absolutely decimated what my record was earlier that day, of 8:11.25. I had a telepack and a teleporter to begin with, but I got a shop with a jetpack in 2-1, and had to wait like 20 seconds to have the shopkeepers line up right so I wouldn’t be shot, and also I did a panic teleport in 4-2, due to a lion trap hitting me but not damaging me due to i-frames from a octopus that ran after me, and died, so I spent like 30 seconds just trying to get back to the jetpack and the teleporter due to having being resurrected by the ankh I got in olmecs lair. This definitely coulda been sub-4 if I didn’t panic and if I didn’t wait so long to get the jetpack, as I made a plan after I got to the exit at like 10 seconds and left at like 40 seconds. But in comparison to my HD best of 4:30, I say I did awesome in that run despite a few setbacks. Monday, 7/25/22. 1749 plays, sunken city any% no tp in 9:56.016. I had a jetpack and a mattock in 1-3, and got poisoned on 7-1, with 1 health, so I used the mother statue for more health and then rescued Monty, and I still had the ankh when I won. I shoulda just fallen into the spikes to teleport to the exit, but I forgot about it.. Tuesday, 7/26/22. I also have the worlds first no% hell run completed, and it’s uploaded onto KZbin as well. I have some stuff uploaded for spelunky hd, but I play on a different system so I can’t record my spelunky 2 plays until I beat the CO, as to keep my data true. Once I beat the CO I’m gonna get spelunky 2 on steam and I’ll upload spelunky 2 as well. You should check out a couple of my runs!!! I grinded for over 100 hours in a week to get the no% hell run, so i am most proud of that one. I played it generally safe on olmec, but other than that I try to go somewhat fast.
