I'm sorry to say it friend, but one of the main problems of the current game is precisely because it could be played by potato phones (I won't explain the statistical reasons) but alas this is the truth. I’m assuming I’m allowed to disclose this now that it’s been publicly announced, but I participated in the alpha for this new version and I had many of the same concerns you did. The UI for the branches and tech trees is very clunky with tanks now being broken into classes based on their play style. Prime example of this is with my favorite tank, the 30b, being placed into a tree with all of the Japanese mediums. Though oddly enough the tier nine and eight predecessors to the 30b were separated into other trees. The trees don’t branch off with each other through nations but purely through level and play style. I truthfully wasn’t entirely sure as to how to research a new vehicle the whole system felt poor. All of the tanks below tier 4 currently from what I remember were unplayable or merely gone. All of the currency systems are changing, with gold and free xp vanishing entirely. You will be compensated in the new currency but it just felt wrong. The commanders also alongside their abilities have unique dialogue and it gets very annoying very fast. Don’t worry though, the shop was fully functional and in fact offered even more commanders… meaning that some of these commanders are destined to become pay to win metas. Overall the graphical fidelity changes were nice but the game felt so childish and clunky now. There was almost zero semblance of the blitz we know now as it seems like the game was turning into something like Apex.

I have a bad feeling about this. This could well be the end of Blitz. The amount of money they'll lose if they change it beyond recognition will do for them overnight. I am scared by the "commander" and hope the game will not gonna be for teens now. Now it's URGENT to stop pay for tanks or Premium I presume, I hope I will keep all my tanks too. I hope it's only graphical update with a balanced MM and more balanced tanks and tiers by stop have 2 or 3 tiers in the same battle.

It also appears to me they are removing the "crew skills" system and replacing it with these corny "commanders". Ironically, I left WOT 10 years ago when they changed the crew system and increased the maximum crew skills level from 5 to 7. I was so close to maxing them all out (at 5) and then WG added 2 more levels that cost 1 and 1.1 million crew xp each, which back then was thousands of games (and more than double the xp you needed to get to level 5). It would have been like starting all over. And now, after returning to the game a year ago, pulling my old account into WOTB, have only 20 tanks left to complete researching all tech trees in all countries, and have almost all my crew skills to level 7, WG pulls the rug out from under me again!!!???? Right before I reach the "finish line" - again!!!??? FU WG! FU. If my guess is right, game over.

This update looks like it’s gonna change the WOTB we know and love to some childish, over colorful pay to win War robots looking game…I think the spark of what made Blitz, we’ll, blitz is gonna be gone once they go through with the update… New graphics are sweet new maps are great, but leave everything else alone 💀😭

I only wanted UE5 simply for the enhanced graphics and physics, maybe a few tweaks to matchmaking, and a better (more accurate and reasonable) balancing of vehicles. From the trailer alone, it looks like they’ve completely changed the identity from a purely strategic and tactical tank arcade game to something like Fortnite or Warzone, which, if that is the case, will completely ruin the game for me.

From 13:02 the Yamato battleship should be the REAL one! Not the fake one! I mean the fake one is bad because Wargaming removed the third turret of the Yamato at the bow. The Community also didn't put the IJN symbol at the front of the bow. The AA guns should be also placed at the starboard side.

Did u giys see commander upgrades??? Just think about it , and how wildly it can change characteristics of a tank , and the gameplay.... every commander have 2 skills , and they are not just some useless sh ity ones they will change the tanks abilities , for example imagine having a commander with aiming improvements and reload on a fv 183 ..... this will absolutely change the game , the change that the commanders will make to ur tanks are major , and just imagine the many builds u can have on a tank (of course if u pay extra for the op commanders , knowing wg) so , when u see a e100 in a match u wouldn't know their reload time , their speed etc , every opponent will be different. Wg u fked up very well , like always ❤

The tank's tier appears to be next to the tank's type icon (upper left corner of tank selection tab). So the hellcat will be tier 3, and the super hellcat will be tier 4 (currently 7 if memory servers). The "level" in the bottom right of the selection tab is most likely the currently useless badge progression for fully researched tanks. The system where you pay creds to advance levels when you have enough xp and mastery badges to advance from 1-9 (grey), 10-19 (green), 20-29 (blue), etc., up to 50. At least that's my guess.

Based on what I saw in the trailer the trios of tanks may be tanks you can choose in the game. Battles could be also like war thunder where you get a few tanks each battle so the games last longer. Imagine playing three different tanks on a single battle. I'm not sure but that's my guess.

Imma be real here if this update does come out I might finally retire after ten years because I don’t think I can stand the change , and the new UI - I also agree with droodles on the fact that I don’t care if they ruin the tier system as long as I get to keep all the tanks that I have payed money for - I HOPE that wargaming realised that the game is perfectly fine as it is . Plus there is no need for some useless goofy aah commanders that ruin the feel of the game - as I am sure most players including me would rather just keep the game the exact same 😢😐

My theory is that along with Canal and Alpenstadt, I think Winter Malinova, Dynasty's Pearl and Molendijk are all getting big changes. Think about it, out of the 5 maps that were out of rotation in season 5, two of them are shown, and they all got huge updates. So WG probably removed these maps to rework them
