Hi - completely new enthusiast here. I got into the lore by playing Space Marine 2 (never had much to do with WH40K before that) and been diving into the lore more and more. I've even attended a small tournament in my city to observe how the game plays. My main issues are: - a LOT of rules to dig through and keep up with (I'm almost getting League of Legends vibes when I needed to devote a CHUNK of my life to stay up to date with meta, rules, items etc); - forcing players to buy those rules in print with hardcover is a joke in 2024 (yeah, I know about Wahapedia, but there is also the approach of OnePageRules - GW, learn the lesson!); - it seemed like a tough game when one player moves the ENTIRE army and only after he's completely done, the other player gets to play... if they aren't obliterated by this point. - price of the plastic is insane; The enticing things are: lore and the quality of those minis, they are outstanding, clearly best on the market... but the greediness of the company is just too obvious. Shame. Especially that they could have MANY more newcomers on the back of the Space Marine's 2 success. Shame.

Totally get and agree with your points, I’ve also played games that are more interactive as in controlling a model/unit at a time each and it does make for better gameplay etc. maybe one day Warhammer can get there. Rules wise when you do pick it up it’s relatively easy to keep up to date it’s just the initial where there is a barrier to entry as such. I agree by making some changes they can draw a lot more people in. Even by looking at their pricing to help.

The Aeldari stuff is mostly just a glow up of the previous models with the exception of that one spider dude, The Krieg are just slightly different that what is already available, Personally would have much rather see Catachan get a do over since they at least have a different style of fighting. Emperors Children will just be a half army release like the Votann and World Eaters before them. And while I clearly have an interest in Space Wolves, After the Blood Angels treatment I go into that with some amount of hesitation

I get the apprehension, hope that there were some lessons learned from some of the reactions to blood angels!

The Eldar look great ... But theyre eldar. The Krieg... As a Krieg player... I was very disappointed. I already own multiples of everything coming and i dont use artillery. Besides ... Those new cannons look like a trap. Mega bases will eat up all the realestate in the deployment zone.
