Lego resellers are the bane of my existence. I stopped buying lego for a while (from like 2013-2019) and when I came back to it the lego market had changed so drastically. sure there were expensive minifigures or sets before, but now it was just different. Everyone was buying lego just to resell whatever minifigures were hyped up at the time. And now, post-"i bought all the Thrawn minifigures on bricklink", it has spiraled even further. It's sad to see the lego Star Wars community fall down such a greedy hole, where now people only think of "how will this set make me money" rather than "how will this set make me happy". And yeah money can make life a lot easier to live, but the people that do this kind of reselling/investing scam don't come off as people that really do need the money, just hypebeasts trying to make as much money off of a children's toy as possible.

It's not even just LEGO - tons of hobbies such as retro gaming and trading cards have had their secondary market utterly ravaged since covid. it's a terrible shame. I hate nothing more than people getting invested into hobbies solely to make a quick buck.

Been saying this for years. Nobody cares to enjoy the Lego itself. Hell, 90% of these “fans” keep their sets sealed and locked away in a dungeon to make a profit off of it. As spiteful as I am towards it, I don’t shame those who do it. It’s a good way to make decent money, but something about it all is just scummy to me. Probably because it’s a kid’s toy that I’ve grown up with, played with, collected, and loved for over 20 years

@@patgilroy762740 years for me and I have absolutely no problem with re sellers, it’s just a collectable business, I really don’t understand the hate 🤷 I mean new sets just aren’t hard to get when released so anyone that wants one can pretty easily but retired sets are different, if re sellers didn’t hold them it would be impossible to get older sets and I’ll bet sell for a lot more with less out there.

I hope Lego pulls a giant “fuck you” to scalpers by releasing 5 very exclusive and expensive minifigures in a huge ucs or master builder series set and then puts those 5 minifigures into a cheaper set or cheaper sets

Been collecting Lego Star Wars since its release in 99. I have ALOT of Star Wars Lego, and I have a lot of Sealed sets. I Soley don't open some sets and display them on the shelf because they are irreplaceable in today's market. I've Never brought a set to harbor and Re-sell. I've never sold a Lego piece in my life. I just don't open some sets due to the sentimental value and the fact they are way to hard to replace or get a second one. I hate re sellers and people who buy 100 Clone Battle packs just to resell. I buy 100 Battle packs because I want to make a Clone army, but I'm lucky to score two in todays market, and I've never once cleared the shelf of a battle pack or rare set. I always leave one on the shelf for someone that wants one. Id rather give away a duplicate set to someone who really wants it, than to ever sell one I have a double for, But hey that's just me. Lego means more to me than money. I get why people buy and sell, I hate it when we cant just get 1 or 2.

Even though it all lines up, I have hope that this wont affect true lego fans as much as the "respect" for these lego resellers is in a questionable state right now due to the whole captain rex thing and the fake leaks they tried to push to cover up. Unfortunately it would just affect the average star wars fan in that case(great video btw)

Thank god i bought the fang fighter, the snub fighter, and tie bomber last month, hopefully no one cares about the micro fighter cause i been putting it off Also this is slowly becoming the buyers remorse channel

I do feel like a big issue was that during the pandemic there was an actual problem with the supply. The stores were actually cleaned up of Lego and toilet paper. I will never forget the day I went to buy toilet paper and a 501st battlepack and I came back with napkins and no lego. But regardless, I think there is enough supply on amazon, LEgo, walmart , target to worry about not finding them right now. But yeah as soon as those things retire, they will double the price..

Yeah, ive already noticed recently retired sets skyrocketing in price when i was grabbing a second hand hoth AT-ST because i was a couple weeks too late, best price was £70 out of all of them which is pretty bad but hey at least i didnt have to pay for double for a boxed set like these other resellers are trying to pull.

Sort of my take in general but when it comes to the sets I know a lot of people tend to buy sets much later because they’re just not in the position to get them so I’m telling people to go finally buy those sets that they’ve wanted but put off from getting. I know there’s also a market of people who if they want to buy a minfig they would just buy him separately and the market for some minfigs are about to go up. So bassically if you want a certain thing, right now is the time to get it

This is the worst advice ever. Ahsoka bombed. The ghost is getting retired early and has sold poorly aside from day 1 sales from nostalgic Rebels fans. I have a Bricklink store, and also have insider info from companies that sell Star Wars merch (other than LEGO) and I can promise you that Star Wars stuff that is not from Episodes 1 - 6 or Clone Wars is pretty much worthless. Nobody wants Disney Star Wars shit. The Mando movie is going to be ass. It will probably be better than the Ahsoka show, but that’s not saying much. The franchise is almost fully cooked.

My bad I should’ve rephrase that, I actually do have these figures but my gripe is if these figure do end being damaged like cracks in the torso (which I do check on to maintain their condition as I take care of my legos but I’ve had minifigs crack w/o me knowing) if I want a replacement the bricklink of those prices will be really high
