Thanks so much for watching ! Since I filmed this video I actually bought my own 36" unicycle and did a "bikebacking" trip with it around Estonia. Watch the video here : kzbin.info/www/bejne/j2aXoaZ7nLp3oNU

1:37 I love this shot. You get on, you are clearly a tad wobbly, your brain is working...then...it clicks and you got it. Totally love to see learning in action.

Yeah it is actually really funny to watch this clip few years later. It is crazy how fast does the brain adapt. Now I have to readapt when I go on a smaller wheel ^^

It's awesome to see how quickly your brain "re-calibrates" for the larger wheel size. You're obviously a very accomplished unicyclist. So it just took a few turns of the wheel and crank for your brain to wrap its neurons around the larger wheel and "Voila!" Nice job!!!

Yep, I was lucky, I got my KH36" all equip (Stearing bar, breaks, bags...) for 700 euro. It is still costy but way less than If I had to buy a full new one.

I've been riding a 36er for just over a month. It's challenging. Hopefully in another 2 months I'll be freemounting, idling and hopping. If I can do that much I'll be happy.

If you already ride usual unicycle. It won't take you much time till you really get use to ride 36'. On this video it was literally the first time, It took me 30 minutes to get on it. I went for a 1 month unicycle trip just after. Now, I can ride it like boss 😎

@@SylvainOULALA Well, I could ride a unicycle pretty well when I was 15. It was a 24" and that was 37 years ago when I was much smaller and lighter. My 8 year old daughter found it hidden away in the garage last summer and wanted to try it. I told her if she learned to ride it I'd get one myself and ride with her. Well, with covid lockdowns and nothing else to do, not only did she learn to ride it, she got really good. So I ordered a Nimbus Nightfox, figuring I was a lot bigger than I used to be and that I should scale my unicycle up similarly. Then I blew out my knee and spent 2 months recovering. So now I'm trying to catch up with the riding ability of my 9 year old daughter who can literally ride circles around me. I'm riding every day though and every week my route gets a little longer and trickier. Initially, that big 36" wheel threw me for a loop. Now however I'm starting to like it.

Look on KZbin for Liz Wilson angled freemount onto a 29" Nimbus Oracle unucycle. Your movement is parallel with the wheel. Her movement is perpendicular to the wheel and she swings her arm up and across to initiate moving in the direction she wants to go. By bringing the seat up perpendicular to the wheel the tire does not roll. It's a really solid feeling. I'm using it on my 26 MUNI. I have a 30-in inseam and the seat is 41 inches off the ground. Happy New Year 2021!

I have never ride a 32" but I love 36" now it is my everyday unicycle. But I think your daughter will struggle to follow you with a 20". :)

@@SylvainOULALA Still, 700 is still a lot. Why did the seller not want it anymore? Did they fall on their back too many times and decided unicycling is too hard? That nimbus looks sweet with a 2 speed hub but its too much for something so simple to build. Im thinking maybe to use car parts I see people throw away often to make one. After all, the only cost would be time to build it.

36 inch unicycle just looks too big and about as likely to hurt the user as a tall one. I liked the 20 fifteen years ago and just accidently bought a smaller one (sight unseen $40) since I assumed it was a 20 inch. I''l see if its even usable since its more like a small clown unicycle...then...well....other unicycles :)
@SylvainOULALA5 ай бұрын
Indeed, 36’ can be more dangerous but it is also much faster. And I would not go into a 3000 km trip with a 20’ as it would be as slow as walking but much more exhausting. It is like bikes each unicycle have its own purpose.
