Couple notes about the first run: 1. Shot speed upgrades no longer effectively give you a range up. The tears will hit the ground after the same distance, they will just get there faster. 2. The magic skin effect consumes one red heart when used. If you only have spirit hearts, it consumes two of those instead, hence why you died. Figured these might be useful intel :)

The one time it did activate he left the floor with A side and because the implementation is garbage, that led to the effect not being converted to damage for B side

It's just become hilarious how NL still doesn't know what the red eyedrops item does. He'll be like "I misplayed there, I should've diplopia'd the tears up" which would've provided 0 DPS benefit, then later he'll say something like "our tears are huge so the run must be really good". Every time.

Devil deals are only lost when losing real red hearts, so bone heart HP doesnt count and neither do rotten hearts (because they are not red hearts

I'm not 100% on this but doesn't losing the actual bone heart container count? I think I was playing the forgotten when that happened so maybe it's unique to them but I think there's something weird with it

@@shanedancer3895 As far as i know this is a mechanic unique to the forgotten normally losing bone hearts is not counted as red heart damage so that makes them insanely valuable on bethany where they are basically spirit heart protection on steroids

Hey Nl. I've been having the literal worst couple days of my life so I decided to load up an isaac run and started as eden with 1 hp and the first room took 3 minutes to complete then rewarded me with a tears down pill. Who else thinks that there should be overlaps in paths? You should be able to get victory laps from any path now that it’s 1/4 not 1/2 endings and the Mega Satan door and delirium portals should appear on the corpse

I don't think you can underrate Dead Sea Scrolls(/Metronome). It's better than nothing but the decent-good spacebar items either aid you in difficult rooms or benefit you immediately somehow, and it's very inconsistently either of those so there's a lot of spacebars strictly better than it. So again, it's better than nothing but like, barely. TNT was better.

I think both Dead Sea Scrolls and Metronome are underrated. They can save you if you get a bad run. Dead Sea Scrolls can give you Soul/Eternal Hearts and it can't give you Kamikaze anymore. Metronome can give you Death Certificate effect, which pretty much wins you the game. I had a run where Metronome gave me Death Certificate twice. Mine Crafter is pretty good as well, definitely safer than Metronome. I would take Dead Sea Scrolls over them both, though.

NL, if you really hate tainted laz that much, why not just take the dive into tainted cain? I know you don't like him, but literally all you would need to do to prep yourself for ALL future tainted cain runs would be to, instead of recording ONE isaac episode, take that time to look over the list of recipes and make a spreadsheet (we all know you love spreadsheets) of all the best bang-for-buck recipes. That's it. On a sidenote, I can't be alone in my disappointment for NL's dislike of tainted cain... When I learned of his mechanic, I couldn't WAIT for NL to go deep on him. Such a unique concept and playstyle. I don't mean for this to sound demeaning or whatever, but it's really disappointing that NL couldn't put in that thirty minutes to an hour to look at the wiki and get his preferred recipes sorted out.

If he wanted to play a calculator with the same build every time, he'd wouldn't be playing Issac. TCain is a cool idea, its just that, like everything in this game, the fun is locked behind secret mechanics you have to wiki dive into. Having to do Homework in order to have fun isn't appealing.

I agree with the other guy, a character that requires you to literally study is pretty annoying. If he is going to play it, he should use the Tainted Cain Calculator which you can find with a quick google search. It's incredibly helpful! I also hope he'll play Tainted Cain soon because that character is really cool.

I was suggesting half an hour of looking at the wiki, but the calculator would seemingly make it even more easy. Also jesus christ people the man plays video games for a living, checking the wiki for a half hour to sort out many hours of future gameplay is not the end of the world.
