The true story is just that its just issac's imagination and issac is just trying to coop with the fact that his mom hates him and that he feels guilty of his sisters death. It shows this in the bosses, items, ending pictures. Issac is trying to find out if he should kill himself or he will overcome the want of death and become better

The ghost killed her with the books,and them the boy started to starve in the streets.When he noticed,he was the ghost,and this story would never end,he became little,and started to cry.

I think Issac actually killed his Mom, and when he found out it was all in his imagination, he thought he was evil. So then he went inside the chest to suffocate himself in hopes that his Mom would forgive him. But actually, a demon possessed Issac, and took over before Issac could suffocate himself.

Richey Thach that's not what happened, but of course he truth wasn't revealed until recently. Isaac did indeed see a bunch of horrors and even thought he was a demon and l climbed in the chest, however recently this was revealed to be Isaac losing his mind, his delirium if you will. Basically the events you saw happen in the game were Isaac going through his own delirium before he suffocated in the chest
