I’m a bit outdated on Lantern. Did we move away from KGC?

Most folks are off it. Karn's vulnerable to interaction, and 4 mana is a lot for a planeswalker that doesn't immediately impact the board by itself. Not to mention that Lantern struggles to hit 4 mana consistently in most builds, so you need to go out of your way to run Talismans and stuff to reach Karn mana. I think KGC could have a home in a Lantern shell, but my prediction is that the format needs to go at least one of two directions for that to happen. One, it needs to slow way down -- KGC is miserable vs Energy and aggro decks, which are a large swath of the meta right now. Two, Karn's static ability needs to be relevant in the meta, which would give it some utillity as a stax piece. Maybe one day Karn will return to the limelight for Lantern, but if I'm going to run a tutor I'd rather it put something into play directly for that kind of mana. There are better tutor/card selection alternatives for now.

@@entuo honestly, I never really liked him on Lantern. Last time I played with Lantern on paper was with a WUB build running Whir and prismatic ending, so it's been a while. ... I miss Mox Opal.
