The Birds on Craiglockhart Pond, Edinburgh through 2022

The changing life on the pond through the seasons in the pleassnt valley beside Easter Craiglockhart Hill. Coots and their chicks, swans and cygnets, ducks and ducklings, visiting Canada and Greylag geese, various types of seagull and a lonely moorhen. The coots even had a second brood later in the Summer. While the cygnets were young the Cob was very energetic in keeping the geese off the water while the youngsters stayed safe with the Pen. The story ends sadly with the long-time resident male swan being injured and subsequently dying early in 2023.
