i found this video really helped me understand really what was going on in the story. i found that the language used in the story, made it hard to really become enveloped in the story telling. thanks again for this video

Thankyou this was very helpful. The concept of different characters symbolizing the 3 parts of the Whole Human in Hawethorne's writings is pretty much a basic plot for all of them. Specially in this one and the scarlet letter in which case the body is Hester, the Mind is Chillingworth and The Heart is Dimmsdale.
