You want to help them? In what way? your just only 1 person, unless you have billions of U.S. dollars to give away, I see your education system in France is not teaching you well, my advice leave these people alone and stay in France and take care of your self, once you come here, you will change your mind, I retired from the U.S. Army, came here to live a peaceful life, all i got was pure hell, now I am going back home, i cherish the American life.

I love how Filipinos find a way to stay happy in every situation. My bosom friend is a Filipina and I've learned so many things from her. She's sweet, forgiving, understanding and full of pure love and compassion. I am not sure if most of the Filipinos treat people in such a way as my friend does yet they tend to be kind and warm hearted. I love Filipinos. ❤

It fine that these people have a religion but what's not ok is for the church to be SO heavily involved in the government. Philippines will continue to be like this forever unless something changes which is so very unfortunate.

Because the children, as hard as it is to raise them, are their future... perhaps 1 of the 5 or whatever the number...marries a foreigner, gets a good job, perhaps lives abroad... or those 5 pool their earnings to help all. One thing for sure the lack of any offspring solidifies a dead end future...and absolutely offers no hope for the future.

fuazzole I think you are probably a kind person, but beware giving the kids money for 2 reasons. 1. A lot of the street children belong to Syndicates whereby they beg only to give it up to a Master who owns them. 2. Huffing (smelling solvents and glues to get high) is an epidemic among kids there. It gets them high to escape hardship for a little while and staves off hunger... but leaves them a mess of course. I know, I give a few pesos to them once in a while - but is much better to give them food... next time keep some packs of Sky Flakes and hand them out.

+MyTurn Thank you all for all your help and support to our fellow Pinoys. These people does have choices many of them came from towns, provinces outside Manila or any cities in Philippines. They go to Manila for jobs and end up in this kind of environment. The new President is coming with an agenda to distribute wealth and power outside Manila. My family and I lived in the mountains of Panay close to Boracay. Many has bamboo houses, healthy fresh air with fresh veggies, chickens, pigs...self sustaining life...not like this kind of environment. Public education is free and scholarships in high school and colleges are offered there but yes Life is a Choice... As a Pinoy I felt sorry for them myself but they put themselves in this kind of environment. May God bless all of you who helped and support my Kababayan.

Me and my brother force to help working at night in the market as a labor while studying in the morning. 3 sisters focusing on study and maintaining grades to obtain their scholarship in the university. After 15 years we finally got our rewards for finishing college., got decent job, high salary, new individual home each siblings, comfortable life., sending expensive school to our children. The fact that they can smile is one proof that money could never make anybody happy. I've met people with lots of money but were still unhappy and depressed. Money is not everything but it helps. But only to a certain point. In this material, world one suffers constantly whether one is rich or poor. The spiritual being, however, is constantly in bliss and eternal. This material body will become old, diseased and dwindle and die but the spirit soul is eternal. What is the point of a big bank account if there is nothing in your spiritual bank account? At the tome of death we leave everything behind. in the end it's just you and God. And believe me God will not ask you how big is your bank account. He will ask you how big is your spiritual bank account.

It comes in from the sea where people dump garbage then the water washes it onto shore. "Litter" is really like throwing away small items like junk mail or a soft drink can. That stuff on the beach is not litter. It belongs in a landfill and the government should see to it that it is removed.

It's pure evil. They used to sell those during school events. Selling them to underaged kids who doesn't know how to treat them, and mostly ends up in the rubbish bin; ducks, chicks, quails etc. It's really disgusting that they allow it in school. Don't even think about the colouring.... it's horrible. :/

HOPE. That's what the Philippines has been doing and hoping for decades long and nothing had happened. Don't you think the time is now to do something draconian to change things over there for the betterment of the country and its entire citizenry? Hope and prayers don't seem to work. Corruption in every level is rampant and alive and well. As Einstein once said: doing the same things over and over and expecting a different result is foolish and I might add, a waste of time, money and energy. We need honest and strong leaders, willing to sacrifice all for the country to make that change and eradicate the cancer that plagues the country for so long. And then perhaps, Filipinos will stop leaving their country and expatriates might return home. (Now that is not Hope but a Dream.) MABUHAY!

I was born and raised in the Philippines. Unfortunately, what you see now is just one of the countless communities that live in the graveyard. A lot of them have been relocated somewhere but most of them sell their houses due to lack of jobs in the area they are in. This is just one of the problems of the country. I blame poverty to corrupt politicians. If you live there, the rich gets richer while the poor gets poorer. Corruption is so bad that a lot of them have hidden wealth. Taxes don't go to where it should be instead people's money go to these useless crocs

GP9c75 you are either practically very very stupid an idiot or just an trolling? 1 billion seriously ? the Philippine population is only about 94 million and as for the information source i have. i'v obtain it from the Philippine statistics authority office data from 2013. the poverty rate of the Philippines is currently about 24% since 2014 it has lowered by 6% since 1991 because of the efforts of private and government volunteers and other outside organizations that offers free livelihoods for communities. all your complaints are dumbfounded you keep complaining about how the government isn't doing their job or anything then you better take a look again .but you seem to miss the fact that majority of the problem itself IS THE PEOPLE heck you want to revolt you want to protest? for what reason poverty ?? hell ask yourself first before you start complaining what have you done to the community what kind of contributions have you made ? all you deluded people who keep complaining and are always blaming the government are full of bullshit without the government CHAOS would be the result as for the problem with poverty the government cannot do anything about it unless the PEOPLE themselves change.

Yes , they are poor but life goes on and they are not complaining. As Long as they don't disturb anyone then It's ok. I just hope that someday, they can have a better life condition . Please pray for them instead of looking down of their plight. If you really a good person, then go give or do something to help them.

Brazil, where I used to live, has huge slum areas in spite of being an OIL PRODUCING COUNTRY with no yearly typhoons unlike the Philippines. Philippine slums are a joke compared to Brazil's. Filipinos think that corruption is only in their country. Philippines is not that poor if compared to countries with similar standard of living

@@gothicc9959 Yeah, the thing is, the coloring for the chicks is not good for them :( That's why even if the colors are cute, it is dangerous. I actually feel bad seeing these colored chicks being sold here in the Philippines.

I don't understand why the Philippines is the only country in WWII who never became an economic power house? Japan, Korea, Germany are major economic industrialized countries, yet the Philippines is still a 3rd world poverty stricken country. WHY?

Why? I think one of the main factors is that we are a tropical country we have this mentality of not working hard because there is no winter coming...we are surrounded by sea which is abundant with fish and we also have easy access in fruits. Our ancestors probably used to think like this then our society adopted it..every southeast asian countries have these mentality except singapore. But its not too late to change this tho..we can change our society.
