Pretty sure when the Administrator hired Dell Connagher the BLu Engineer in the comic _Loose Canon_ and he received his grandfather Radigan Connagher's notes, the Admin had Dell build the Respawn, based on Radigan's life extender machines, except the Respawn creates new bodies and stuffs the souls and memories into the new bodies. Medic's resurrection circuit he built in Rottenburg during the Robot War is an extension of both his own MeidGun technology that repairs damaged bodies and the Respawn, but skips the "new body" stage and straight-up sticks the dead bits back together and reanimates them, while his Ghostbusters-style "soul trap" prevents the soul from leaving so it can be stuffed back into the body. And the Medic didn't steal the souls of the TF2 team. He stole the souls of the TFC mercs while he was working with them. It's the only thing that makes sense from context. Yes, the wording in the comics was a bit ambiguous, but I'm confused why so many people in the fandom seem to get that wrong.

What makes _TF2_ so special in which _Overwatch_ can't do in terms of character personality is that the Mercenaries comes off psychotic warmongers, yet their eccentricity and quirks makes them likeable, but _Overwatch_ casts tried to take themselves seriously, but resulted to being generic and predictable. Not to mention that Overwatch tried to be deep with its worldbuilding, but TF2 has Abraham Lincoln, the first Pyro who becomes the inventor of stairs just to make an attempt for his rocket jump stunt.

Ah sweet! New TF2 lore video. Very nicely done! Lots of energy and a nice coverage of lore even outside the comics. Just have a few notes: 1. Saxton’s ex-girlfriend Maggie would also be an exception to the “no australium = no powers” thing, which is admittedly a bit harder to explain. It could be that the people on the outskirts of Australia got hit the hardest by the drought, and there was a severe lack of distribution outside the mainlands (hence, why Sniper’s adoptive parents were not muscular in the slightest). 2. Elizabeth/Helen does not “work for Mann Co.”, Elizabeth/Helen runs TF Industries, which owns RED and BLU, and does dealings with Mann Co. for weapons and such. 3. Saxton’s flashback with Maggie takes place before he inherits Mann Co., hence the topic of their discussion. 4. Helen is very likely not Elizabeth’s granddaughter (daughter if anything, since I’m assuming you got these facts from the wiki, the mother in this situation “Emily” was debunked some years ago by the lead artist for the comics, and no one has found any evidence of that name being on anything TF2-related ever), rather Helen *is* Elizabeth under a new identity. Especially with the whole “150 years” thing. 5. The Apple comic is considered non-canon, since it exists purely as a cross-promotion (also given the whole “Saxton blows up the moon” thing). 6. In regard to Scout Spy and Engie, it’s worth saying that, in my experience, if a bit of lore is discovered about either a RED or BLU mercenary, just assume it applies to both and that, eventually, both teams just merge into the same people anyway. There are waaaaay too many inconsistencies and such to argue against (my favourite being who was present in A Smissmas Story), and it’s clear that the writers eventually completely axed BLU team (minus Engie) to reduce confusion in the more story-heavy MvM/Mann Co. No More arc. 7. Merasmus is arrested after being framed for the murder of Tom Jones by Soldier. The raccoon incident simply gets him evicted.

Actually the named mercenaries are the only one of their character because they were specifically hired to fight in the Robot war. There aren't two Dell Conagher's, the only named one is Blu Engineer and Jeremy is specifically the Blu Scout with his dad being the Red Spy, why the 18 mercs look the same has yet to be explained but it's widely accepted that it's just to tie in with gameplay but those mercs are different people with different lives.

Why doesn't this confirm that only 9 of them mercs out of the supposed 18 are the only one of their character?

There's a fair reason to believe that the 9 mercs participating during the robot war were picked out specifically by both teams, knowing there are only 9 "characters". They are employed by Saxton, not Redman who is dead at this point, there's no reason for all of them to be wearing red, except for the fact that Gray themes his entire robot army around the color blue

I've just read this comic, and the dates don't add up... God says He will see Scout on 4th december 1987... However, the Fnaf2 check with Jeremy Fitzgerald's salary has a date of 11/12/1987... And this is the American way of dating, because the Pink Slip that you get in custom night says 11/13/1987, where is no 13th month, so 11 stands for november... That means, Fnaf2, and by extension the bite of 87, where Jeremy dies, both happen in november... Scout cannot be the Fnaf2 guard... Their deaths happen two weeks apart... . . . . . What An ODYSSEY it's been to be a fan of Team Fortress 2; I know this is a bit abridged, but as a fan who's been following TF2 since The War! Update (though I only got my 1st Steam account & started playing in 2017 before Jungle Inferno, then had to make another one back in 2021/22 for password issues), this is a great tribute to one of the best games I've had the honor of playing & loving tenderly; it far exceeds its very real current troubles (hence #FixTF2 and #SaveTF2 before it) with its "fun & function first" foundations and the fire-forged community that's grown around it - and I hope the powers in power at Valve are cojoled by the movement to let the TF Team grow again so the necessary updates can happen & we can play the game bot-free again. I have never encountered anyone who didn't know a TF2 background character to be from TF2. But then again with Valve added game mode VSH and his appearance in the last major update...
