Kidd Video was an American Saturday morning cartoon created by DIC Enterprises in association with Saban Productions. The series originally ran on NBC from 1984 to 1985.
Kidd Video was one of the most popular Saturday morning cartoons in its day but it only lasted 2 seasons in the US and was gone.
But the same could not be said for another part of the world where Kidd Video the band had merchandise and a tour.

Until I found the full version of the theme, I never realized Robbie Rist was main vocals on like half the song. I remember loving the show. It'd be nice to find complete episodes in decent quality someday.

The funny thing is at some point (I think maybe in the early 90s or maybe it was after the show ran the first time and became syndicated) but they had to strip out all the licensed music and replace it with horrible cheap replacements. It pretty much made the show unwatchable as it took the one thing the original show had and ruined it completely.
@aethericAnuran
@aethericAnuran 4 жыл бұрын
@@JohnDoe-wq5eu Cartoons were all like that back then. There was no sense of permanence or the idea that fans would want a complete version of the shows. License the music for the duration of the network run and nothing else matters. Now fans and archivists can't really get good quality complete versions of some shows. We've learned since then, but man there are cartoons partially lost to time now.

"we, wee're cartoons??!?!?" Part of me is glad my memories can stay "pure" as incomplete as they are. I recall Kidd Video fondly, and I do not want reality of seeing it again changing that...There is so much of our childhood that is impossible to watch again, and its kind of sad. Wacthing things again as adults and realizing how horrible a thing is is kind of soul crushing.

I use to love Kidd Video when I was a kid. I don't recall much about the actually show (I was 6 when it debuted), but there was this one song from the show that stuck with me more than the intro. Based on the lyrics in the chorus, I'm guessing the song was probably titled "T.L.C.". My favorite part was the 'bass' line in the chorus, which had this little riff that I have never forgotten for some reason. Maybe because it was AWESOME! lol EDIT: I found the song, and it's got all of that 80's goodness, complete with synthesizer, that I remember. Kidd Video - "A Little T.L.C." I loved this show back in the day when it aired. You're right - surely we're close to the disney ownership singularity that would allow a release

Seems like a cross between Captain N & Dungeons & Dragons (which were executed far better). Mr. Larson, you overlooked Jem and the Holograms. 😁 William Zabka was Johnny, the bully in The Karate Kid. And I liked Riptide.
