10:17 I translate ☺️ The story of the wild hunter The wild huntsman put on his new grass-green coat, took his knapsack, powder horn and flint and ran quickly out into the field. He wore his glasses on his nose and wanted to shoot the rabbit dead. The bunny sits in the leaf house and laughs at the wild hunter. Now the sun was shining too brightly, and his gun was too heavy for him. He lay down in the green grass; the little hare saw all of this. And when the hunter was snoring and sleeping, the hare ran secretly to him and took the gun and the glasses and crept away quite quietly and silently.

I have seen gravestones in Malaysia’s oldest city, Malacca, from the Dutch period (1600s, 1700s). They exhumed the graves and took the bones with them when they exchanged the city for Batavia (now Jakarta, the Indonesian capital) with the British Empire but left the huge, heavily inscribed 5 foot tall gravestones all lined up against the inner walls of the ruins of an even older Portuguese chapel (built in the early1500s). There is one open grave in that chapel - and that was where St. Francis Xavier was buried (he had taught at this same chapel in life when he came here) for a year (1554) after he died in China while they waited for the Tradewinds to change so they could sail back with him West to his beloved mission at Goa, India. But when he was exhumed he was fully intact and incorrupt, instead of just bones, like they expected. They did take him back to Goa where he is venerated to this day.

Hi Ron, just got done watching your video here on Captain Hook. My heritage is Scottish/Irish/Czech. My father came from Ratiskovice, Czechia with his family as a small child. In the Slavic folklore there is a story about an old woman who was called "Baba Yaga" She was an evil witch whole stole children, if you were bad she would take you away and eat you for her supper..So as small children, my brothers and I use to stay overnights at my grandparents house if we were bad my grandmother would always say.."Bud hodny, nebo si pro tebe v noci prijede Baba Yaga odveze te pryc.". Which means: Be good or Baba Yaga will come for you at night and take you away! So being small children we were on our best behavior at my grandparents house 😁 There is also a book out with illustrations about Baba Yaga as well and some of those illustrations are creepy..Great video..As always safe travels wherever your travels may lead you 💛😊- Trish

I heard about the book when I learnt German as a young engineer at a German company, Festo GMBH. Those characters do look like those older European storybook illustrations. It could very well be from one of them, I think the hat looks like an early beanie, there was a little Pom-Pom (bobbin) at the top so the wearer didn’t hit their head on the low doorways in the ships-they automatically ducked lower because they remembered the bobbin - those would be 16-18th centuries so could very well be.
