Great review! My No.1 bow. I had the same as you but in 48" beautiful bow unfortunately broke. I have the older version as well over 3 years old no issues. That is the 50" version. Shoots fast even with 590gr bamboo arrows, and the most accurate bow i had. Definitely get some rayskin 🙂

@@agamagreen yes that might be right. If a bow is too low on poundage, especially reflex bows, they tend to twist easier. In addition to that, they will wear out also faster. 😅The day you reached to manage a 60# reflex bow properly , you could chose a bow out of my entire collection... my lowest draw weight is 55# highest is 120#. Believe me, I´ve got a ton...a real shxx load of horsebows in my magazine LOL... Have a nice weekend and n´joy your KTB

@@agamagreen me again, Melanie...sorry. But I have forgotten to let you know, KAYA uses Maple as base for their limb laminations. On the Riser and syha sections hard maple. Very often they also use grade A Canadian Maple (wich is a very good thing, in my personal opinion). On belly side one layer of carbon (like stabil core - but depends on the bow model). After that they add one layer of black power glass on back ´n´Belly, too. As for glue they use modern expoxy resin. Btw. maple laminated limbs do often have benefits over bamboo laminated limbs ;) But that´s another whole story, though. Btw. even though kaya is one of the fastest KTB...Daylite Majesty is even faster. Its a modern Cybrog Monster KTB. Canadian maple laminated limbs, real stabil core and real cross carbon layered back and belly...makes this bow a killer. Few month ago I reviewed an 80 pound Majesty :D

You are very welcome, dear friend/ brother! ☺️ 🤗 Yes, shoulder and knees are the most difficult joints to heal and take some time. For my frozen shoulder it took around 3 months until I could pull up to 28“ straight with a low poundage bow, but release was still crap ( I was 49 at that time). Your injury was much more severe and takes more time for recovery. Please be patient and listen to your body! ☺️ If there’s pain, you stop and give it a rest. When the pain is gone, try 20 or 30 arrows and stop for the day. I restrict myself to 30-36 arrows a day and am able to do much more if required meanwhile. But these few arrows a day help the shoulder to gain more movement and muscles build up slowly but steady 😃 Get well - no matter how long it takes! 🤗🏹🔆

I have that bow. I don’t like fat arrow pass with short brace height. Grip is too big and chunky. 46” is smooth until 27 and stack after that.
@agamagreen
@agamagreen Жыл бұрын
Ok… Mine doesn’t stack up to 31”… (this is my personal max draw and max draw of this bow). Hm, I don’t know what’s wrong with your bow, because a KTB should be able to be drawn up to 31” easily… Maybe you contact Kaya and ask about their opinion? You can modify the grip shape. It’s some sort of material you can cut or grind with the Dremel. In Korea it’s common that archers adjust the handle to their liking, I have been told ☺️ Fingers crossed, that you get help on the performance of your bow! Best wishes! 🏹🔆

@agamagreen
@agamagreen Жыл бұрын
Thank you so much, dear Kevin! ☺️🙏 As you might know, I love all asiatic styled bows! It’s like asking which child you love more 😁 You know, if I stand in front of my collection I select one for this day, another one for the next day and so on. Some of them have an easier handle or thinner arrow pass, but if you compare Turkish and Korean bows, both handles feel good. Turkish bows are easy to use, very efficient and fast. Korean bows are incredible soft to draw up to the point where stacking starts. End of May I will participate the Korean Archery Days in Halver, Germany and I‘m very much looking forward to this event. I will learn more how to shoot the Korean style as well ☺️ The two bow styles represent different cultures and historical backgrounds and I can’t prefer one of them - they are both awesome! 😊👍 Keep up the fun! 😊🏹🔆

Hey, I'm quite new to archery. I've just ordered same bow 46"-50#. Accordingly to my calculations FOC is 16% (I use 3 natural feather 4 inch long, 29.5 inch 400 spin 8.4gpi 80gr tip and plastic nocks, total weight is approx 22-23 grams or 339.5 gr). My draw lenght is 28, and I assume based on you video that the draw weight at 28 is going to be 44 pound. So, I will have GPP if my math is correct at 7.715. Should this do, or should I make different arrows? My previous Kaya was 48"-45# and the arrows are from that bow. Unfortunately, it snapped actually, one limb collapsed inwards while I was collecting the arrows from the target, when I get back to it I noticed odd shape and that lower limb was facing inwards. It was very sunny day 26 Celcius and I wonder if it was defect in the bow, too much temperature exposure, or wear-off due too to light arrows (but those arrows for 45 pounder at 28 inch was like 36 pounds maybe then those arrwos was actually much heavier GPP), or what? I'd prefer to avoid another bow damage if the fault was on me. I've never twisted limbs, and I always checked if the bow had proper arch under tension and was keeping the shape and line before shooting. Also FOC 16% is if I understand beyond the threshold of 7-15%. Appreciate any help. PS: I don't have problem with draw weight at all. I could hold 45 pounds for 10 seconds without any shaking etc as I'm doing heavy lifts and I've solid core. Also I shoot based on Mihai Cozmei teachings (from YT, I don't practice with him directly).
@agamagreen
@agamagreen 3 ай бұрын
Hi, Korean bows are shot best with 9 grain per pound, so if your bow has 50 lbs at 28 inches, you will need 450 grain heavy arrows . If you have shot your previous 45 lbs bow with the 339.5 gn arrows, these were too lightweighted. 405 gn heavy arrows would’ve been required. This is maybe the reason for the collapsing of the limb. In case you want to try the Korean way of shooting, your draw length will be longer than it is now because you will draw much further than now and as a result the arrows need to be more heavy as well, depending on the actual strength of the bow at the longer draw length. Best wishes!
@michup86
@michup86 3 ай бұрын
@@agamagreen @agamagreen @agamagreen correct me if im wrong but it was 45# at 31 inch so my actual draw weight at 28 inch would be 45 - (45/20 * (31-28)) = 45 - 6.75 = 38.25 pounds. 339.5gn / 38.25 = ~8.87 GPP so on the kaya bow that snapped the arrows where roughly 9GPP. Now I'm buying exactly the same bow as you reviewed here and with my slavic draw I'm at 28 inch. And your measurements were in video that it's 44 pounds. So 339.5 / 44 = 7.71 so i need a bit heavier arrows. Is that right math?
@agamagreen
@agamagreen 3 ай бұрын
@@michup86 It’s simple: get a scale for suitcases with a hook and measure the strength of the bow by pulling the string to your drawing length (in lbs or pound). This value is multiplied with 9 gpp and you receive the required arrow weight.
