Most underrated song of the 90s, written with pain, Blood, tears and bittersweet memories that all of us can relate. A real masterpiece, not an exageration of the term. This song make me smile, cry and miss a Life that I did not Live.

My brother, who dies last year due to cancer, and I would drive on the Viña del Mar coastline in Chile, windows down, listening to this gem. "You ask me why another road song... funny but I bet you've never left home..."

It’s always been a mystery to me why the Black Crowes are never talked about as being one of the greatest rock n roll bands to ever come out of America. Their catalog is excellent. They were around many years. Great studio and a great live band. But if you ask the average person about them, you get ,”weren’t they the band that did a cover of Hard to Handle years ago?” They did so much as a band after that. Listen to the album Amorica, then tell me they are not a hall of fame worthy band
@ianmason20036 жыл бұрын
I thought every album was great, but yes Amorica they stepped it up. Hard to Handle was a decent song, but from that album alone Twice as Hard rocks. Talks to Angels doesn't get remembered as the hit it was.

They weren't trendy enough, weren't a grunge band when grunge was the thing, but they'd blow all of these bands right off the stage back in those days, and twice on Sundays. Right off the stage. You either caught it and "got it", or you whiffed and missed it. Also, if they really tried to write hit songs and cared about the business side of things, they would have been much bigger than they were. Anyone who saw them in their prime knows how incredible they were.
@TheSeanEdmiston5 жыл бұрын
"Shake Your Money Maker" was so good and so raw, and "Southern Harmony..." was such a mature follow up...they grew musically with each album and still made badass music the whole time. IMO one of the three or four greatest rock bands from the US.

Ya know ....I have slapped my forehead...while the Dead, and Allmans etc..went. The mantle waa left wide open. Eddie Vedder raved about R Bros and Gorman ( as he gorged the buffet table) for s la Dylan & the Band. But life happens.....but...eh I got my Marc Ford in my Crowes. 4 straight nights the San Francisco Fillmore....like someone stuffed a cinnamon roll in my left ear every night. Ya shoulda been there ;) Might happen again....

The groove in this performance is incredible. Definitely one of the most beautiful songs ever written. As a guitarist, I love Rich’s open G tuning with Marc Ford soloing over it in standard tuning. Great use of dynamics. Just an absolute masterpiece!!

I really miss the days musicians were important for music and when their creation were eagerly awaited albuns and not only quick-comsumption hits to be downloaded and soon forgotten. It is a shame there is no time for today´s musicians grow with their mistakes and come with masterpieces after lessons were learned. Maybe I´am getting old...but also wiser..

Max Hunter For some reason, I have never seen them in concert. At least I'm pretty sure that I haven't. I have probably had the chance once but for some reason or another, I missed out. They have been a favorite of mine since they came out but I guess that my friends didn't like them as much so we never focused on them. If I ever do a dance for a woman, it has to be to one of their songs. They just make "gettin down" so much easier for this white guy.
