Why did you change the design that worked? Two flick locks on pro was reliable and it worked. I was about to buy a second pair, but a lot of reviews say the smash lock gets broken easily, as expected.

Did you get an answer to this? I also love the double flick lock but recently had someone break one of my poles. I would really like to replace it with the same style as I LOVE MY POLES. I am not hearing good things about this new design at all...problematic, noisy clicking, etc.

The problem with 7075 Aluminum ( Black Diamond) is the not good corrosion resistance . To me it is a deal breaker . I do not use carbon since it breaks easily on tough trails .

I can’t lock the top locking mechanism when the trekking pole is collapsed on my new Alpine Carbon. I tried loosening the adjustment screw all the way while keeping the lock open but it is impossible to lock it. Did i get a faulty product? Kindly advise as this is frustrating..

The best most secure methods is z poles with two flick locks on the connections . Fixed length . This way it has zero possibility of sliding yet can undergo side impact better then regular z poles . That way you take the best of both worlds from z poles and telescopic poles .

How do I adjust a loose handle? The type that has the spring support. One of my poles is loose, slides ip and down from the base

The problem with flick lock is that it is not adjustable easily instantly by hand only . In the middle of trip you suddenly have an ascend and needs to shorten your BD poles and for that tightening the flick locks … With Leki and almost any other poles you have a wheel mechanism not requiring any tool . I do not understand why BD do not use the Leki wheel method.

these are dangerous . to many incidents with that smash lock .. it doesnt lock the section up AT ALL only down ..how is that extremely adjustable ( your advert ) 😂😂😂😂😂 the foot pulls the bottom section out on hill climbs rendering them USELESS

i was probably a bit unfair earlier theyre worse .. because the lower leg only locks fully extended .. its awkward for going uphill , take an age to get used to . the limiting factors are adjustment for uphill walking . you have to put the lower leg fully in and use the middle column .. but be warned as soon as the spike sticks in soft ground it pulls the lower section out ..absolute TERRIBLE design .. so theyre not for going up hill , better design on £17 amazon poles

cant say how dangerous the flick locks are the incidents with these poles are climbing litterally . people falling down hills with heavy packs because the bottom section has completaly come away from.the pole ! DO NOT BUY THESE POLES , if your the guy that designed this crap you want skuering with them ... CHECK OUT THE INCIDENTS WITH THIS SPECIFIC WALKING POLE !
