I'll never understand why people claim the Black Keys "sold out" and "went mainstream". This kind of music isn't mainstream. This isn't pop or mainstream at all. This may not be the blues the Black Keys started with, but it sure as hell is still Rock 'n Roll.

GewoonRood I've read KZbin comments under songs from El Camino by people who think that The Keys sold out and made mainstream music, just because it sounded less gritty like their early stuff. But this stuff they're doing now? It's still rock 'n roll, and it's still good

Every time I listen to Gold on the ceiling I think about my family's annual trip to Yellowstone. It's always been a tradition to play the same playlist on the road trip there, and once we get driving through Idaho, we have to start it off with Gold on the ceiling. For the past three years, I haven't been able to keep that tradition with the people I started it with due to a few things that have happened, but I still keep this song on my playlist and play it the second we drive into Idaho.

Yeah probably. Too bad indie-rock is mostly overvalued, tepid, soulless, meandering drivel. Most of the bands classified as indie rock don't even rock! They are more concerned with their clothes, gimmicks and attempting to look mysterious. Give me The Who, The Stooges, MC5, Ramones, Clash, Nirvana ANY DAY OF THE WEEK. None of the indie-rock bands even come close. They are mostly pretenders.

Checking this band out for the first time. I can see myself liking this. I like the guitar solos and vocal harmonies.

The guitar riff in the beginning reminds me of a certain tracks on Aladdin Sane album. Amazing.

I've been playing this song for four years now. I play Black Keys when I want my four year old son to fall asleep. This has been his stroller music since he was born.

For some reason I thought this song was older than it is. Like I thought this was an old 70's to 80's rock song.

I heard Lonely Boy on Need for Speed The Run and thought the same thing. They started in 2011.

59 yo and every time the mainstream has come around to appreciate great new music some ass accuses the band of selling out. It is old and needs to stop but won't I am afraid. Peace and keep rockin!

Every time this song starts playing at my job, I always turn to a coworker or the customer I'm checking out and say "If he kept his gold in a safe like a normal person, no one would be trying to get it."

Don't forget to check their early albums, like Rubber Factory, Magic Potion and Thickfreakness ! They are too underrated, a lot of people know the black keys only with their most famous hits and i think it's sad

Shame about that, too, I'd wanna put in a heist flick, or maybe a biker movie, just because of that 70s rock vibe it's got going on.
