Just for anyone wondering, commentor Amalia Silva says this man is a security guard and part time actor named Derrick T. Tuggle. He is the star, according to Amalia, because he was featured as an extra, but they didn't like the footage they took. Luckily enough, they had enough footage of him dancing to fill the whole music video, and because of that, he became the star of this beautiful song. Go Derrick., We all love you. And to the Black Keys... PLEASE for the love of all things, BRING HIM BACK. I would not be at all upset at a whole series of music videos just featuring him vibing at random places.

He was a security guard from Muscle Shoals Alabama. This was filmed in Muscle Shoals. My city is world renowned for being the home of Fame studios. Elvis, Aretha, The Rolling stones, Percy Sledge & Lynard Skynard plus many more recorded there. The most recent I can think of is Jennifer Hudson right before covid hit. We are a community with music at its core. We sit alongside the beautiful Tennessee River & Wilson Lake. Deer abound throughout the suburbs & countryside. Some of the biggest catfish & bass have been caught here. Fisherman come from far away to get a chance to catch one of these monsters. We host many major fishing competitions every year. We are four cities in one often called the Quad cities. Muscle Shoals, Florence, Tuscumbia & Sheffied city all border each other. One of the few places in the world where one can drive to 4 different beautiful, bustling downtowns all just 15 mins from the other. Muscle Shoals was home to Helen Keller & W.C Handy the father of the blues lived across the river in Florence city. We don't have an interstate yet people drive far out of the way to eat at one of our amazing restaurants. We're home to two of the #1 & #2 best breakfast places in Bama. We also have the one & only 360 Grille, a huge mega structure that looks like a space ship many stories up & the top spins around slowly while you eat. It was Formerly called the Renaissance Tower. Its connected to the 5 star Marriott Hotel thats part of the famous golf trail & both overlook Wilson Lake & the river. Living is cheap in these parts. $200 thous buys a brand new medium size house. Home taxes range from $100 to $250 a YEAR on average. Our University of North Alabama is 2nd to none. (UNA) Our schools are well above average & preK is now universally free if you so choose. An avg utility bill is $150 because our weather is mild in the winter & our dam provides cheap & clean electricity. We also have the deepest dam East of the Rockies. The former Forks of Cypress Plantation is located here as well as Sweetwater Plantation & others such as Belle Mont. Football is king & people are nice. The whole area is safe so stay where you please. We're a melting pot of Whites, Black's & Latinos & we're hopefully all LGBTQ friendly or at least LGBTQ polite. Churches on every corner of every denomination. We're far from perfect but many of us strive to be as kind as possible. Yall come on down & visit. We enjoy new faces & we need more young folks. Brand new hospital, need I say more. I love this band!!!!

Agreed 100%, Black Keys for life. It has a 1970s style combined with early 2010s indie rock, so it will last forever. :) My mom likes this song also. By the way, this reminds me of Little Richard - Good Golly Miss Molly (Gert Lengstrand Cover), as I found that yesterday, and both use the same drum beat.

Can we get serious for a minute and appreciate the genius behind the Keys' videos?
@modsquad207 жыл бұрын
The Keys originally shot a different video-storyline, big cast, yadda-and hated it when it was done. One of the extras from the cast was this guy dancing here. He used to do a bit of dancing before any take just to warm up his body and relax his mind. After the first video was scratched, they remembered this guy and asked him to do his warm up routine AS the video. And here we are.

“Derrick T. Tuggle was originally cast as an extra who would be handed a set of keys to the band's motel room by Auerbach and Carney. While on set, Tuggle's improvised dancing drew the attention of director Jesse Dylan. He said, "The director just sort of noticed me dancing and asked me, 'Can you perform?' I said, 'I can dance, anybody can dance,' so I took some moves from everybody: John Travolta from Saturday Night Fever and Pulp Fiction, the Carlton Banks dance from The Fresh Prince and a little bit of Michael Jackson, so it was a smorgasbord of everybody in there." He added, "It was just a spur-of-the-moment thing. My acting teacher Mark McPherson, he has us do this thing before we start class called 'Song and Dance,' where he'll have us sing one of our favorite songs, and then while we're singing it, he'll have us do a crazy dance, or a sexy dance, and I guess it spawned from that."[7][8] The video was nominated for a 2012 MTV Video Music Award for Best Rock Video. Tuggle's performance later earned him a cameo appearance in the music video for "Happy" by Pharrell Williams.[9]“ All done in ONE take! SO COOL!!!!
