My dad used to read the “vintage crime black lizard” series books by early 20th century crime fiction and pulp fiction authors like Raymond chandler, Dashiell Hammett, Jim Thompson, David goodis, James M Cain, Cornell woolrich, and Ross MacDonald. I have read some of the books in the series but there were so many of them that it was daunting to read every single book.

Just found your channel..wow ur doing gods work my friend..you mentioned in a few videos and i seen some of your replies in the comments but any chance you could do a video explaining stereo soundtracks that have upmixing and how it works..how can tell if a track is just stereo or it does infact have the extra information for the center and surround channels?

Thank you for this!!! I knew of most of these but it’s really helpful to have them listed together. I was afraid that Penzler wasn’t doing them anymore so that fits. I still need a good number of these-I’m REALLY wanting to get the Black Mask and Continental Op ones for trying to build a complete Hammett collection. It’s great that Penzler’s selections will turn you on to so many authors…and then you look up trying to get their other works…and that can be difficult…🤦🏻‍♂️😂
