To this day I cannot believe Treyarch had either the balls or the stupidity to start a whole new story before concluding their long standing and beloved original. Chaos could've been flawless and amazing and still people were going to hate it for taking away time from the Aether story. They did it anyway and stifled the conclusion of Aether and ruined it. All for them to just lean back into it with the next installment. Just sheer foolishness.

It hurts that chaos isn’t gonna come back, DOTN is my favorite zombies map of all time even as a fan since world at war. It’s truly an underrated masterpiece Imo and one of the most perfect zombies maps ever made if you ask me. As someone that adores chaos this is a fantastic video. I agree with most of your points except for the vampires, as I do believe their spawn rate was nerfed somewhere along the way. It was a great and engaging watch all the way through!

My problem with Voyage isn’t the story, the map layout, or even the Easter egg (I’ve never even done it actually because I don’t do Easter eggs), but rather my problem with Voyage is the severe lack of content it has for a modern zombies map. When you’re just playing the map for fun/survival like I do, the map is about as basic as Der Riese. And when you have so little features on such a huge map like that, it makes it feel very empty and lifeless for casual gameplay. Which is unfortunate because that map has, in my opinion, some of the best esthetics/atmosphere and round change soundtracks we’ve ever had in zombies.

I don’t understand why so many people romanticize Classified as the best Aether map in BO4. The map has, by far, the least amount of content of any Aether map on the game.

Looking back at it, as a big BO4 zombies fan, I think the BO4 engine being so different from the others (like the perk system, etc.) was a good thing. It was a nice change of pace from the previous games and it really feels very different and fresh compared to the older games, which I think is good. A lot of the KZbinrs make the gripe that it made a lot of unnecessary changes that ruined it, saying “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it”. But I guarantee you that of the game didn’t make those changes, they would’ve griped that it just felt like “the same old thing” and that it “didn’t innovate enough”. I used to agree that the lack of original perk system made BO4 zombies a bit flavorless, but I changed my mind because Cold War brought back the original perk system and that game still managed to have significantly less personality than BO4.

The perk system is not bad. I just think it could’ve been implemented better. Like for example if they made it so that you pick the perks ingame instead of the menu. That way you can switch to whatever perks you need. But what I hate about bo4’s engine is the zombies’s movement. But other than that the game is solid

I promise you most people would've been perfectly fine without the changes. That's an insane statement given how many people were demanding that they just retcon the changes and bring back the same old thing. Then they even went on to do some of that. They upped the default health and brought back some perks. Changing things for the sake of change is never a good thing. Changes need to be made with purpose. Not to mention you say Cold War has less personality yet people like it a whole fuck of a lot more.

Just got this video in my feed now. Overall, I think you are right in that the maps were somewhat of a mess, but to me? That’s what made them so fun and memorable haha. Also, it’s 2023 and I just did voyage’s Easter egg for the first time too. However, no excuses for that map on my end. Outside of aesthetics, the main quest is kind of annoying, blightfathers suck ass no matter what map they’re in, and there’s just so many damn choke points. I feel like the map is an almost perfect reconstruction of the titanic to its own detriment to some extent.

The maps themselves were excellent, just the release order and the fact that they were stuck in Black Ops 4 tarnished their legacy a bit. Also the insanely complex Easter eggs that have been going on since black ops 3 only to double down on them really hurt the accessibility. Although I will say, Dead Of The Night is amazing, Voyage of Despair is solid, IX is one of the best, and Ancient Evil is one of the last few masterpieces we’ve gotten from zombies in a long time. It’s just a shame the scheduling and marketing for the chaos story (at least post DOTN) was poor and botched any chance to attract an audience. Oh yeah and gatekeeping most of the content behind the black ops pass really didn’t help…..

One thing that's sad to me is how good the chaos maps are compared to the aether maps on bo4. Ancient Evil for me is top 3 best maps of all time. Dotn, while complicated, is filled with atmosphere and is a hella unique with a dope wonder weapon. IX is also good , I'd say top 10, but I think AE is way more casual friendly and has easy to get awesome wonder weapons. Sadly the same cannot be said for aether. Botd is easily top 3 worst maps and is way too altered from motd. Alpha Omega is boring asf and just filled with recycled crap and stupid elemental ray guns. Tag der toten isn't that bad map wise but really they had to make us use victus and terrible wonder weapons. Bo4 should have been an aether only game until it ended, then either had dlc for chaos or made chaos as the new story. Also I'm certain I'm in the minority here but damn I would 10x had rather continued the chaos story than be in the boring asf dark aether story of cold war.

9 sold me this game. I loved the visuals and the gameplay besides the terrible wonder weapon is super fun. Voyage is just okay for me, great wonder weapon but it needed to have better flow. It suffers from the same issue as some IW zombies maps which feel way too big. Dead of the Night is fun, the camper's heaven map with the wonder weapon. Ancient Evil is perfection. The only zombies map I have played so much that I am finally bored. I have made every single wonder weapon on it and I remember how to by heart. Making 4 wonder weapons that are all super strong and fun to use was great. It feels like the proper sequel to Origins and DE. Shame we will never see this crew again.

Tbh the crimson ones are actually way better than the regular ones Because if they leaped at you, they are way more forgiving, unless you have low ass health, because of the grace period. You have a grace period of invincibility (probably in plain sight ability too not too sure) until you regenerate health again. Plus they only spawn once during a round. If they made that the Nosferatu instead I feel the map would have a way more positive stand in terms of enemies. - Catalysts - Werewolf - Crimson Nosferatu Boom, a better lineup of enemies for a map. Other than that, I wish they have toned down how powerfully annoying they are entirely, nerfing health, spawn rate, and maybe damage but not entirely. I think they would've been better.

The thing with the remasters is that I’m critiquing the changes On each map. And they’re the same maps but a different engine. Sure some benefit alot from it like verruct, while some don’t benefit that much like origins. But the changes are so negligible that the video will be to me a waste of time. I also have a much better idea. If I were to make a video on WAW for example, I will talk about the maps and Talk about the other versions of these maps. That way I can integrate the remasters along with the video instead of making a separate video on them

First of all, I’m fully aware that my opinion on a dead video game doesn’t matter that much. The video is made purely for entertainment. So I’m not sure why I come off to you arrogant asshole. Second of all, I’m pretty sure that I made my arguments clearly. The story was a mess because of its incompetence . The best example I have is dead of the night. We are playing as one dimensional caricatures with no depth. The game doesn’t care give us any information about them. Their backstory, goals, and importance to the story don’t exist. And they don’t even react to what’s going on around them in a natural way. They literally shrug off the fact that everyone is a zombie, and there’s werewolves and vampires around them like they see that shit every week. And since they don’t care about their surroundings, how am I supposed to care. When I said I don’t care I referred to this map specifically. I can’t “slow down and explain myself more” if the game doesn’t give me something to explain. I can’t elaborate on a story that doesn’t elaborate on itself. And this isn’t a controversial opinion either. People had such little investment in this story that the developers scrapped that last chaos maps. BO4 killed cod for me. Worst zombies I’ve ever played, I didn’t bother with Cold War and vanguard, they looked even worse

Play it on realistic mode trust me it’s back to old school zombies unless your not a good player and can’t survive much
