In 1976 our JROTC used M-14's with the firing pin absent and fiberglass stocks. So we had to limit our moves to those that would not destroy but-plates or break stocks or sights. These guys are pretty damn good though. I wonder if there is a JROTC anywhere in the nation that still meets standards like this?

That is pretty good I was a member of the John H. Reagan "Rifles Drill Team" from Houston TX. We have always looked up to and admired the black watch drill team. our team is new to the nationals competition but we do better every year, and our commander got first place in the individual(solo)2 years ago. Keep up the good work B-W and look out for the Reagan Riffles they are going to be a force to be reckon with in the future.

Bend less at the waist. Also...while very impressive...very very impressive, there is a certain point of diminishing returns. My point is, where does the rifle begin to be less a rifle and more a "baton?" This is my only criticism of this style. As this kind of style evolves, it will become less and less a "military" drill team move. Just my two cents. -Paige

the" black watch" are an ancient scottish regiment, with a proud military history dating from the 1700s ah dont hink they juggled their weapons, but they won battles. these are a bunch of jugglers.

@urgayifyoureadthis I know these dudes. I live in San Antonio. Their rifles are the right weight. You just hate on them because they can actually make it to nationals. They are the real deal except this year, they had to cut it short because of people just quitting the team. Either that or they had to disband the team because of some incident with pushups. long story.

Springfields don't even weight 10 pounds 1st off, 2nd of all you're obviously biased when saying things like "id like to see anyways drill like we did back then" well, back then drill was bland, boring, and not that great to today's standards. John Akeroyd revolutionized drill individual drill in 1999, everything before that wasn't as great.

And to be on black watch, you have to maintain a 3.0 GPA, not as high as your 3.5 but still. has nothing to do with the quality of the team. you keep talking about how well you did in high school and how you won at western regionals. Bullcrap people win at western regionals. ill even link you the team the won western regionals this year and they suck. Just cause you suck and dont want to admit it, dont talk shit.
