2 years late but you're actually on to something. Evelynn didn't want to be like this torture demon creature. She was simply a spirit that drifted in the spirit realm but because of what was called as a rune war (very important cataclysm in LoL lore) she got exposed to a lot of people screaming and crying in pain and if you read the lore spirits fed on the emotions of the living. Because she got so much used to eating the emotion of pain she couldn't live without it forcing her to torture people when the Rune war was finally over. To people she is a monster or an absolute demon but to her it's nothing but a means of survival.

I did this on the Aatrox video so I guess I'll do it on this one too (updated version with TL;DR now) Evelynn lore summarized: I Evelynn in the beginning was only a small, wispy shadow of nothingness it was a shapeless thing at first. Then The Rune Wars began and Runeterra was in it's most destructive time period ever which, in turn, brought upon negative emotions which the shadow that would soon become Evelynn fed off of. For some context of just how destructive The Rune Wars were let me tell you that in The Rune Wars entire cities were destroyed in the blink of an eye with a single World Rune. The wars only stopped once Ryze started sealing these destructive stones away where no one could find them, but anyway back to the lore. Evelynn fed on these negative emotions until The Rune Wars ended. Evelynn grew desperate and in that desperation made itself into a monstrous form. This new form of Evelynn's was too horrifying to catch any prey, and so eventually it found out that instead of scaring them it should be attracting them, luring them into the demon's grasp. So Evelynn studied the humans and created the current form it has now in just a few weeks. Now with this new form it could feed on their desires and then their pain from torturing them. Even though Evelynn had perfected it's form it was never as much pain it had felt during The Rune Wars. The demon hopes for a day when it can "plunge the world into utter chaos, and she can return to an existence of pure, rapturous ecstasy." I *TL;DR:* Evelynn started out as a small shadow of nothingness with no shape. The Rune Wars began and Evelynn fed on negative human emotions. Rune Wars end and Evelynn grows desperate so it creates a monstrous form but that only scares away it's prey, so it studies humans and in a matter of weeks creates a form that would attract humans but it was never enough and Evelynn hopes for a day when it can "plunge the world into utter chaos, and she can return to an existence of pure, rapturous ecstasy." I Edit: So I'm redoing some of the old lore I've posted on these lore comments on this channel, the Evelynn one is short to begin with but I thought I'd remake it anyway. I'll be remaking all of my lore comments up until the Sylas video which is where I started to use better grammar, as for the "fun facts" sections I'll add those on only some of the remade comments one of which will be this one. I won't do them all immediately like all in one day but I will get to all of them eventually, I'd say it'll take me about a week to finish all of them since I plan to do around 1-3 each day. When The Rune Wars finally ended Evelynn grew desperate for the agony that fed her during The Rune Wars so she took a monstrous form at first hunting humans but it was a challenge because they were afraid of her so she started experimenting on other forms to take all "more monstrous than the last" until Evelynn realized she needed to find a form to lure the humans into her trap so she studied the humans and found the perfect form that is the one she uses now. Her final goal is to plunge the world into chaos so "she can return to an existence of pure rapturous ecstasy." I (The edit is being weird again so I'm using the I's between paragraphs to separate them since for some reason the edit keeps putting them all together)

my favorite lines is "I like the happy ones, they have so much farther to fall" and "You don't really know someone until you see them beg for mercy" mainly because they are both true. Lets say your living a happy life it seems everything is going right and then boom your parents are dead because someone murdered them what Eve is saying here is that if your already sad there is no other emotion that you were feeling since you weren't feeling happy at all and for Eve she needs people to be happy at first before they instantly realize that they are going to die and start to slowly feel hopeless as they are dying. And for the second one is that lets say you and your lover got kidnapped and the kidnapper says that they will only let one go and both of you has to chose which one will die and so because you well love your lover you point at yourself and you look over and your lover is pointing at you with not a single trace of emotion.Of course these scenarios could be used in many different ways. idk i probably don't make any sense lol
