For 10 years he held a cult following in total awe, total suspense, total love, and built up a love for thar character which will never die. It should go down as one of the greatest ever series. It was captivating. It was loved. He made Raymond Red Reddington real.

Loved seeing Alan Alda too. Also one of our greatest actors. Greatest under-actors. I sometimes feel like James Spader is the next incarnation of Alan Alda. Even though Alan is still with us at 88 years old. Both seem cut from similar cloth as actors. They're both fairly Method in that they fully embody and inhabit the characters they portray.

The blacklist always pissed me off. Because of how much better James Spader was then everyone else when it came to acting, everyone else felt dull, flat and boring, or just out right annoying. But Red was a terrible criminal yet had so much charisma, and despite him being an outlaw maintained a very certain code of ethics, which made him distinct and honorable. And the show always felt so boring when James spader was not on screen.

it seems the creator/writers just wanted a show about him. it was so dull at first i almost stopped my binge. that whole who is red to liz story line got old fast and should not drag on for years like a sop opera. it has been hard to see that brat liz get the best of him. they don't work as a duo. shes always turning on him and he would burn the world for her. she was always pushing him away in one episode and calling him for professional reasons the next. so tiring. just break up with him already. lol for a criminal, red was enjoyable to watch. i just wanted liz to leave town.

@@GotoMaki4Micah Yeah I fully agree, Liz never had a redemption arc, I wish at least her death was meaningful. Regardless, I was very pleased when liz left the show, But as soon as liz left the show other problems started to ensue. The show became repetitive, and red became a lot less proactive. And the change in scenery, and the introduction of the sisters was just so out of place imo. The spiritual arc of reddington was so dumb as well. For someone who comes off as so pragmatic, his relation ship with the sisters was just not very fitting. The show was great for the first few seasons, but it really declined in quality.

@@octs609 him becoming less proactive is what i worried about. its what happens to strong males leads in media these days. sad to hear. im rushing through the show out of excitement, but at the same time i want to slow down and savor it. the way they wrote his character in the show had my hopes up sky high, but really im unfortunately glad to find out it goes down hill, it reminds me to take it slow and enjoy because it wont be like that later.

He went from a stoic mastermind, who was 20 steps ahead of everyone too someone who is spiritually weak and devasted. He lost his charisma, and sometimes comes off as pathetic even. It is so sad. I love james spader, and seeing them butcher his character was so sad. I recently started watching boston legal, and in it he is truly unapologetic, reddington if he were a lawyer. I would highly recommend watching it, it is so much more consistent then blacklist.

This is too delightful and unbelievable to be true. This is the most beautiful, emotional and heartbreaking Red video I've ever seen. As you wrote in the description, I'm also very afraid about his death. This character is too special and powerful to let go. But as Raymond said, there is an end waiting for all of us. If Megan returned, it would only be in flashbacks and very short scenes. The fact they could’ve shortened this show to 7-8 seasons and been DONE with it, leaving out all the filler and completing it while Megan was still apart of it, still infuriates me. They had their golden goose and threw it away, plain and simple.

I’m afraid about Raymond dying at the end of the season. But I’ll be more angry than sad if they do that. This show has dropped bread crumbs for 10 years and we hungrily followed and gobbled them up. The show is so different. We would go crazy with questions, trying to put pieces together. Then we’d have a whole new set of riddles. Don’t get me wrong, I loved it. James Spader is brilliant and I wouldn’t miss an episode. But to draw us in, make this an addiction for 10 years, and make us anxious for an ending should give us a good ending. If he dies than the Blacklisters all win. And we lose. TPTB shouldn’t be that cruel to loyal fans. Besides that, I can’t bear the idea of Raymond dying.
