+Geoff Gowans Jeff........this is not a cover......Dave Alvin (guitarist) of the Blasters wrote this song and the Blasters recorded it, originally. The Blasters were long time friends with Dwight Yoakam, since the days, when Dwight would open their West Coast shows and so, later in the '80s, Dwight COVERED the song , well indeed and I'm sure, Dave Alvin was very pleased, when the royalty checks would show up in his mail box.
