The Blazing Love of Mitsuri Kanroji

While I have discussed Mitsuri in the past, when looking back at that video I don't believe it to be my best work. So I wanted to remake it, especially now since the newest Demon Slayer season has me think about her more. I did this once for Rengoku so why not his student?

@@sakurahirawa Yes! It's crazy how many characters in Demon Slayer were disengouraged by their own families or people around them and have selfsteems problems... Shinobu, Mitsuri, Rengoku, Tengen... The best part is seeing how they surpassed this obstacles to be better persons

I like how unique the weaponry the slayers and hashira are. Mitsuri weapon of choice and fighting style are much more interesting than I initially gave them credit for. And the connection between love and flame breathing was a surprise as well

What I love about Mitsuri being the love hashira is that she embodies every single form of love. We see she has a strong bond with her family AKA Family Love We see her care for Tanjiro and see that she cares for friends AKA Friendship Love Ironically enough Mitsuri struggles with Romantic and self love which I always found to be funny. Romantic love and self love are probably the first two things most people think when they hear love. Which is something that Mitsuri always struggled with. Her fears of being rejecting is what caused her to never confess her feelings to Obanai Along with her own insecurities that cause her to struggle with her own imagine. Really nice little details I noticed about her characters

Kanroji was a character i could not stand when she was first introduced. I thought her hair looked stupid and her gimmick was cliche. But man did i receive several gut punches by the story for that quick assumption and now shes top 5 for me. Fantastic video that does her justice!

Honestly, I struggle to really enjoy her character (and many other major characters in DS) because of the emphasis she puts on god-given talent, but I accept that that's a failing on my part more than anything else. It's an embarrassingly ironic feeling, given that it puts me in parallel to the bigoted suitors from her backstory, or the likes of antagonists like Kokushibo I hope that one day I'll be able to watch this video without so many reservations in my heart
