I agree with the Barragan fight. Hachigen showcasing pure kido fighting style really made me want to see more of it. Tessai being the Kido captain was so awesome! When you go back to ichigo training with Urahara to get his zanpakuto made it more special the second go around.

Most improved is definitely Uryu The one that grew on me the most was Soi Fon. I used to be a hater when i first watched the anime but I hated her the most. After reading the manga and actually understanding her character she not only is one of the most well written captains imo but she's also the most tragic. Most surprising is Starrk being number 1 for me. Starrk's whole character was just a surprise to me and the moments leading up to his death gave all of his previous actions a whole new meaning easily one of the best Espadas though on terms of writing I still gotta go with Nnoitora as the best written. Underrated fight for me is Soi Fon vs Ggio Vega. I love it when two hand to hand fast fighting characters clash and thankfully Ggio's transformation at the end didn't stick around for long. Most interesting power it's Shunsui easily Most potential I've kinda been spoiled on but since the anime is changing things a bit I'm gonna put who I hope gets to do more with that being Soi Fon. She was presumably sniped in the manga and was never seen until the end of the war and yet she's still appearing here so i hope she gets to do more Breakout for me it's either nemu or Renji. Renji managed to make the entire fanbase change their views on him being a fraud after that Uryu fight.

@heavenlykarisma Consider this. These were abilities all Quincy's were supposed to have in terms of Schrift and Vollstandig. Uryu's family being more detached from the rest of the Quincy's rejected these ideas. Uryu having the opportunity to learn and use these (he wasn't able to properly control his Vollstandig against Senjumaru meaning he still had to master it himself) is him getting stuff he was supposed to have. You're right about the Auswahlen boost and the additional power he got when Ywhach awakened the Almighty but Renji was getting an additional power-up from Hikifune's food as well.

She was technically always strong enough to handle Arroniero but was weaker than Grimmjow She lost to meninas who took advantage of her being distracted and post royal guard training she's above Sternritter level. She never really had a surprising moment as much as the others Her fights didn't seem that underrated Her powers are definitely interesting but Shunsui's is just crazy. Potential though you've got me there she could definitely do some stuff and I don't know what she did in the manga so I don't know what to expect from her.

Thanks for another awesome video, Mespy! I love the awards idea that totally isn't a rip-off. I've got similar opinions, but I'll try to give my own explanations. Most Improved: Uryu definitely takes it here, his defeat of Senjumaru and her world-shaking Bankai in particular was extremely impressive. The anime's helped a lot with improving his TYBW portrayal. TCWGOMTM: Byakuya is up there for me too. I hated his stubbornness during the Soul Society arc, but he grew on me over time and has some of Bleach's best character development. As for my other pick... I'd have to say Nelliel. She annoyed me at first in her baby form, but learning Nel's backstory gave me a deeper respect for her and she's now one of my favourite Espada. I'll also give an honourable mention to Isshin. He doesn't have too much screen time beyond the Substitute arc as Ichigo's bumbling father (rare example of a living shōnen parent), but seeing his backstory and romance with Masaki in "Everything But the Rain" was so touching, it's an incredible flashback. Most Surprising: Aizen's reveal is the obvious answer here, which makes perfect sense as the culmination of a masterfully written arc. It's pretty much the moment that sold me on Bleach in general. But since I'd already been spoiled that he was evil (hard not to be, he's like THE anime villain), number one for me is Ichigo's Quincy blood and Zangetsu/Yhwach. You're right, "The Blade is Me" is absolute peak. Another great one is Unohana being revealed as the First Kenpachi, that was certainly unexpected. I still wish she didn't have to die solely for Zaraki's growth, but it's a great character moment for them both. Oh, and Yammy being the Zero Espada is here but for the wrong reasons. I guess you could call it a dishonourable mention? It's probably the only twist I actively hate. Most Underrated: I'm not sure whether this counts as it's quite well-received, but Hisagi vs. Findorr is still one of my favourite fights. It's relatively minor overall, yet has some of the best animation in OG Bleach. Also, it helps that Kazeshini is a badass Zanpakutō. It's a shame Kubo hates Mr. 69 so much though. I agree with Kira's pillar fight too. Especially how Kira coldly executes Abirama, which is a good insight into his mentality. And again, I like Wabisuke a lot despite how little we see it. Most Interesting: Shunsui is easily the most interesting to me among all Shinigami, his Zanpakutō using children's games to fight is more abstract than the usual physical/elemental powers. Of course, his recent Bankai was animated beautifully and is extremely versatile. Mayuri has such a unique fighting style that I feel like he deserves a spot, you never know what he'll come up with next. Tsukishima for sure too, Book of the End is incredibly broken when you think about how it can change someone's entire past. A lot of the Fullbringers have unique powers by nature, but his is easily the most powerful and frightening. Most Potential: No spoilers, but your choices make sense. Toshiro's a child prodigy and the other three are designated Special War Threats by Yhwach. Breakout Character: Nemu, or rather Nemuri No. 7... rest in peace. She chose to sacrifice herself for Mayuri's sake, showing free will for the first and last time. This latest episode was probably the most emotional in Cour 3 so far, what a beautifully tragic death. So yeah, I like Bleach a little. 8:44 SHUT UP, ADACHI!!! Sorry, felt compelled to say that since I heard our friendly detective's P4AU theme. Anyway, thank you for being cool! And sorry again for yet another boring essay comment.

Thanks for including Soifon's cooperation in battle at Fake Karakura. It shows her subverting her usual view of only using expendable pawns and actually teaming up to win, especially with the stakes in that battle. I would not be surprised if somewhere along after Aizen's defection, Yoruichi had a good long talk with Soifon and convinced her that's it's far better to have true allies rather than mere expendable fodder. Soifon certainly wasn't expendable for Yoruichi in the past, even if it was mandated. But that's just me speculating.

Tokinada himself revealed that all but one or two died on missions set up by his family, then begins snidely mocking this right to Soifon and Yoruichi's faces. My list: Bleach Awards Most Improved character: Rukia she went from a simple soul reaper in Karakura town to becoming depressed after Gin made her think she was just okay with just dying to then growing and finally in TYBW being someone that is strong and capable and with Byakuya giving her praise with how far she has come it’s just the perfect development slight spoiler she also becomes captain of Squad 13 after this arc RIP Ukitake Character that grew on me the most: This one is difficult cause there is Mayuri Byakuya Uryu etc. but honestly for me it’s White like he went from someone I really didn’t like and always wondered why he treated Ichigo badly but then to us finding out that it was actually Ichigo that forced him to be the way he is, to saving him from Ulquiorra, saving him from Byakuya’s Bankai special ability and then helping him AGAIN against Aizen in dangai he’s just the perfect inner demon and one of my favorite characters than switch up later in the story (Honorable Mention: Orihime this one is self explanatory she went from a normal girl to an annoying but understandable damsel in distress always crashing out in hueco mundo to someone who can fight beside Ichigo and support her friends maturing alot and having confidence in herself and her friends to then having the man of her dreams she’s underrated) Most surprising moment in Bleach: obviously Aizen’s betrayal but some honorable mentions are the Soul King being a lifeless corpse inside a gemstone I can’t believe bro was hyped up to be this OP Deity character just for him to get killed by his own son and Ichigo like that’s insane to me. 2nd mention is Unohana being the first Kenpachi like the foreshadowing is just insane with this one I can’t believe I didn’t catch in sooner (I do agree with the ones you said though too there is honestly so many plot twists like this) Most Underrated fight: Yoruichi vs Soi-Fon the writing and animation for this fight was really good for the time and we also get to learn more about Yoruichi in this battle and just how strong she is (Honorable mention Toshiro vs Harribel idk why I don’t see this fight get talked about more) Most interesting power in Bleach: ima say 3 1. Kyoka Suigetsu (Aizen) 2. Soten Kisshun (Orihime) 3. Katen Kyokutsu (Shunsui) Shunsui would be number one for me if Kyoka Suigetsu wasn’t so damn useful and OP Most Potential in TYBW: This is also a very hard one but I’d say Ichigo even though he is the MC you can’t lie that Bankai is probably gonna be something broken and we don’t know it’s ability yet too but it might counter Almighty in some way that with also hollow powers (Horn of Salvation) like he has some potential. (Honorable are Toshiro and Kenpachi I agree with you there) Breakout Character: I agree with you there too Nemu’s power was unexpected to me but Uryu goes in the honorable mention for me bro is on a win streak rn And that’s my list feel free to disagree or agree I wanna know y’all’s opinions too

Hachigen and Soifon aginst Barragan was amazing. You don't see kido often, and in combination with a nuke... Damn. Barragan was the only espada out of the top 3 that actually was frightening, too. Best fight out of the top 3 espada imo. And Tsukushima rules over the past, maybe that comes into play again. Who knows.

I love your appreciation for Soifon, she is underrated imo. There isn't a Bleach captain i don't like, maybe tired of seeing but not the point here. Soifon is very deadly with the combination of her speed and shikai, people forget she's lost mostly due to bad match ups and TYBW foes had preptime. i just hope there turns out to be more to her bankai, like radiation poisoning targets who manage to survive, or Soifon can't utilize its true strength fully because a true 1 hit kill would sacrifice her life.

Tsukishima's power is basically retconning himself into the past of others. He also experiences every single moment of the past that he has inserted into others, so basically everytime he uses Book of the End, it turns out that he has always been part of the victim's life and he and his victim suddenly fondly remember their time together. Of course, Tsukishima chooses what type of relation they had. Pretty cool right? He's an awesome uncle.

Gin's first appearance was so sudden that even I as a viewer thought "we fcked up, what you mean we're facing up against 3rd Captain as soon as we enter Soul Society??" and during that time I have the simple idea that 3rd captain means 3rd strongest, and even if not, he's at least prob stronger than Byakuya who defeated Ichigo instantly beforehand... I was only watching bleach at that time, but I actually legit felt fear when Gin showed up the first time.

I don't remember if you ever mentioned you watched Jojo but I like to think Orihime's powers were inspired by Josuke's Crazy Diamond. Sure, she has her long range attack + shield vs Josuke's close melee but the biggest utility they BOTH bring is the healing, and it's mainly healing by reverting something into a previous state. Orihime's rejection isn't as creatively explored as Josuke's tho, because he can choose to "heal" wrong (like changing your broken nose into the wrong shape) but he's almost as kind and innocent as Orihime (being a teenager too) that it's pretty rare for him to involve malice in his healing.

1. Defo Uryu 2. Mayuri Makes so much sense, I hated that man at the beginning but he’s quickly become one of my favorite of all time, plus his way of saying bankai is so full of arrogance its awesome. 3. For me the most surprising moment was tsukishima turning everyone on ichigo in full bringer, not much needs saying 4. I’ve always thought that Ikkaku v espada was so underrated, I’m glad someone else agrees 5. Ashisogi Jizo is easily the most interesting, we saw recently what he could do with it during Mayuri’s fight with pernidas, granted mayuri is what makes the bankai cool, but still. 6. It seems obvious, but as someone who hasn’t actually read the manga, I give this award to Kenpachi. I know what happens unfortunately, but if I didn’t i’d still give it to him. Giving the mad beast a shikai/bankai was such a good move by Kubo 7. Nemu is the only acceptable answer

Either Bleach TYBW cour 3 or Dandadan better be the anime of the year because they absolutely deserve it!!!! Both have banger openings, animations, characters and fightings are all top tier ❤ After seeing the latest episode, Mayuri and Nemu both definitely got my respect and Mayuri may as well in my top 10 characters of Bleach mainly because of his fighting style and his ideals of science and technology.

My list : MOST IMPROVED CHARACTER : I mean its Uryu , especially after added fights in cour 3 which weren't in the manga THE ONE THAT GREW ON ME THE MOST : -Has to be Gin , I was spoiled that Aizen was the main thing but he terrified me the most in SS arc, his interaction with Rukia , when he opened his eyes with Hitsugaya and no diffed him , it was all crazy man and him turning out to be good was shocking but worth it -Also, gotta mention KOMAMURA (the wolf captain too), after getting embarrassed by Aizen in SS arc and not being able to do much against Tosen in fake Karakura town arc, his performance in TYBW was commendable and very under rated , him killing Bambeitta was satisfying and a fitting conclusion -Mayuri is a decent shout too MOST SURPRISING MOMENT : Apart from the obvious ones like Aizen betrayal, Old Man Zangetsu being a part of Yhwach's quincy powers was a great plot twist with elite foreshadowing MOST UNDER RATED FIGHT : Mayuri vs Espada 8 MOST INTERESTING POWER (My top 3 is gonna contain spoilers , so I'll give the powers revealed until now in anime) : -- Jugram -- Shunsui -- Tsukishima (Aizen and Yhwach are great shouts but not my favs) MOST POTENTIAL (can't answer because I have read the manga 🐸) BREAKOUT FOR ME : My pick contains spoilers because its manga related but from what we have seen until now, I think its Nemu

Uryu is not Ywach's 2nd in command. He is a 'succesor", 2nd in command is Haschwalt. Like example, A king's succesor is like "the crowned prince', But the King's 2nd in command is still a separate individual, which is either his advisor, the queen or his top general.
