@@DavyDave1313 The last replacement jar I got from blendtec was a couple years ago. I noticed it was a revised design and I haven't had any bearing issues or leaking since. Although the blender I have from them is the standard 1650w motor vs the 1800w one in the designer 725.

@The Insufferable Tool No, I think that's unreasonable to ask having to hold the jar all the time. If this was a professional space, they wouldn't even be able to hold it. They need to be able to walk away, as I would also like to do. Luckily they improved the jar and replaced the rubber gasket with welded on metal. I think a lower tolerance for wobble would be a nice addition to the base as well still.

Good news! Recently Blendtec delivers a new enhanced Wildside container with new technology! The problem has now been solved and such damage should no longer occur. Incidentally are Blendtec 8 years warranty! So what should happen? Blendtec blender is simply the best!

If the jar is new, or it has been sitting awhile, you need to put some water in it and spin the blade by hand. That will loosen it up so it won't shred. I have 4 blendtecs, and no jar issues.

Even I could I wouldn't spend this much on a blender. Instead, I would get one of those stainless food processor units with attachment for blender or possibly a juicer as well. Plus for the price this is way too plasticy. I atleast like to get a glass jug as as this price point.

Professionals, resaurants, personal chefs are the real market for these products. But there will always be someone who just "wants the best" and are willing to pay for it. a 50$ blender will do the job for most people.

user_123 .... alot of people who drink only 100% natural stuff & used everyday does buy $650 blenders that last almost forever... ... of cuz such as pro chefs & business shops are no question... ...but when you do math, it's kind of worth it too .... 7 years full warranty ... think about it, cheap blenders every year around $80 (cuz they mostly brake on me after 1 year warranty over , sometime less then a year) , 7 years is $560 already.. not to mention that you are still buying smoothies from keva juice or whatever places , because your blender blended don't taste like them ... .... ... i am even thinking about getting these $650 blender now .... since i got a taste on smoothies at my friend house with vitamix blender.... i will say you are mostly paying for warranty , but you get best quality blender.... ... oh well but peoples think different, i'm just saying what my thought are..... ... peace ! .. :D

I bought a Blendtec All In One a few years ago on HSN. I had to buy the Wildside jar and the Twister jar separately. Now I am being offered the 725 with Wildside & Twister jar for free. I looked at the pic and it seems that the gasket is metal instead of rubber now. I hope this is true. I find that the Blendtec jars pit easily. I have a high end Cuisinart whose jar has held up better. I still prefer the Blendtec Twister jar for pesto and nut butters.

I have had a blendtec for several years with over 700 uses and not one problem ever with my machine I love it from soup to nuts. Blendtec has an awesome machine with a 7 year warranty .. how many things are warrantied for 7 years? does ice cream better than any other machine and it healthy ice cream one way to get vegies and fruit down kids with no problem at all.

You said it didn't happen on the wildside blender, but I had my wildside jar replaced twice because it shredded the gasket just like you described.

You can read comments about the gasket problems on almost any site that has reviews. This seems to be a common problem. The jars need to be replaced every few months. Maybe that's not a problem within the 8 year warranty (except for annoying down-time while waiting for the replacement to be shipped), but after 8 years ... $$$$$$$.

You'll need something like 240v 20 amp minimum. 3 phase would be even better. Unless you wanted a 40 amp 120v outlet and the thick wire and plug required for that amperage. The designer 725 motor is an 1800w motor, it's at the limit for a 120v 15amp circuit. 120v×15a=1800w

+Erika Inocencio Are you really too lazy to put your hand on it for 40 seconds? I love mine. Maybe you should return it and get a Vitamix, but if it's too much to hold the top on the Blendtec you may not be down b/c you'll need to use the plunger to push the contents down.

I haven't tried the revised jars on the 1800w motor of the designer 725. Just the standard 1650w motor. But a few years ago they changed the blade/bearing design to replace the rubber with a metal ring welded to the plastic jar. No plastic or rubber to get shredded. The main problems that happened for me on the older jar was the bearing going bad, but that is usually from liquid leaking inside the sealed compartment to the bearings from the seal going bad. I haven't experienced that in the approximate 2 years I've had the new jar through warranty. So they definitely improved the seal around the blade. The jar that comes with the blender is covered under the 8 year warranty, a separate jar is 3 years. Refurbish blenders are also 3 years, though I swear when I bought my refurb it's was 7 years.
