@@chrisserena429 good call. That is a tuff!y. I used to have his rookie card (from 1990 I think). It had him in the liberty jersey. It was bad ass!

@El Tren That is so awesome! He bounced around after Pittsburgh but his best years were with the Steelers. It's going to be a great year my friend.

I was at that game. It was a hot day in LA. I was hungover after a night in TJ The Steeler win was the cure for that

I was just a kid when I started watching the steelers in the 70s, but I really started watching them regularly week t week in the mid 90s - So many players on both sides of the ball I enjoyed watching - Loved the Bam and Barry show - just wish that they'd been able to be consistently effective together but 91 and 95 were just scary for that 3 year period

I could never get enough of watching the Steelers beat the Raiders, no matter what city the Raiders play in. That rivalry ( especially in the 70s ) was like a civil war on turf. It was vicious ! Even today there’s still leftover hatred between the two franchises. For myself, I’ll root against that team regardless of who they play. I’ll never let go of the disdain I have for them. Go Steelers !!!

Not many road victories for the stilers over the raiders. Even when the raiders were like 2-14 , we went to Oakland and lost. Iirc. Coming off a SB win the previous season
@stevecowder4774 Жыл бұрын
@@atrain818 Very true. If my figures are correct, Big Ben was 0-4 at Oakland. But at least the Faders haven't won an SB in 40 years. And the last time they were in it, Raiders were demolished in the " Chucky " Bowl. I cheered on Tampa as if they were the Steelers.

I remember being an 8 year old kid going to my Grandma's house that Sunday afternoon for her yearly Christmas party (I know it was a few weeks before Xmas but nonetheless it was a big Sunday dinner and xmas party since I came from a big family and not everyone could get together on Xmas day). But anyways, I remember all my relatives huddling around the TV waiting for the Steelers game to kickoff around 4:30 as they were on the west coast. As an 8 year old kid who knew very little about football, this was the first NFL game I've ever watched with my cousins, parents, aunt's/uncles, and grandparents. I remember the game so vividly and since that day I've never missed watching a Steelers game on Sunday. I remember everyone being so happy we dominated the Raiders that day and everyone in my family saying 'Pittsburghs going to the Superbowl.' A month later, we were all watching the AFC championship game together again against the Chargers and everyone in my family said Steelers would win easily and finally get back to the Superbowl. When they lost that game, you could hear a pin drop in that family room and everyone was in shock. Probably still to this day the worst loss I ever witnessed since I started watching the Steelers. But those were such fun times growing up in the mid 90's and watching Steelers every Sunday with the family. Definitely great memories I still have to this day and my love for football started for me on this December day in 1994 when the Steelers beat the Raiders!

This game landed the Steelers a Sports Illustrated cover

The following week after this game Sports Illustrated had the Steelers on the cover....The Big Bad Steelers are Back was the title.
The next week, cowher and company got their biggest win at Riverfront Stadium since 1978. The 38-15 beatdown of the bengals gave pittsburgh a playoff spot

Iirc Hostetter had blurred vision (obviously a concussion) and they still let him go back in the game. Imagine that today?

I watched the running in this game, and if we can get the same kind of blocking, Najee could run just like Barry Foster did...Just pounding, bruising football.
@TheTicktockman321 Жыл бұрын
Najee has zero vision and his balance is mediocre at best. Foster is light years better. It's tragic that he, Green, Morris and Haselrig blew their careers with drugs and that Cowherd chose O'Donnell over Brister. This team was a dynasty in the making. Foster would've been the best Steeler RB ever.
did you get rid of the Zelda "Opening a treasure box" theme for your intro!?!?!?! I loved that.

I think that if they had stayed with Brister over O'Donnell, they would've won a couple more rings. This team and 95' were great teams.
