I'm always hesitant to say too much in my common these videos. I know that both Russians and Ukrainians look through the comments on these videos and I don't want to give the terrorist state of Ukraine any ideas. The airstrip is most likely for emergency landings and occasionally as a jumping off point. Its far too close to the line for them to stage anything there permanently. They could also be using it as a location to launch aircraft style drones from. They won't likely keep any above ground equipment and personnel there. There might be some fuel in underground tanks and a couple personnel in a deep bunker but otherwise there will be nothing there for Kiev to shoot at.

Remember, an armored vehicle painted in ‘desert tan’ is actually VERY well camouflaged when operating in winter conditions with dead grass, trees and urban terrain that has been pounded into rubble. An armored vehicle painted ‘Green’ is only camouflaged when spring brings leaves and green grass…….. You are correct that they were probably just sent and rushed to the front line but don’t mix up ‘Desert Camo’ as being ‘bad’ when everything they are operating in and on is also dead and the same color.
