A lot of experts said that the russians were amazed that there was so little resistance from the ukrainian side, but my view is that the russian knew exactly that there weren’t fortifications as they monitored the area very meticulously for a few years now.

Your comparison is a bit off. At first, the amounts of people Russia is losing is insane. Nato might have some sf in ukr, but not a full on army. So it will also not become a Vietnam. If nato gets involved, I think we won't live another day...

Its pretty fitting for the early stage of the Vietnam war, where the US only had advisors (equivalent of NATO spec ops now in ukraine), the south vietnamese (ukrainians) mainly fighting the vietcong (LPR & DPR militias and volunteers/draftees) who were complimented by the north vietnamese regular army (russian career military in this case). The only question is when the last helo leaves a burning Saigon (Kiev) evacuating the last of the foreign troops & rich guys (Zelensky )shortly before the NVA invades in full force and the city falls... Wanna bet that Zely wont stay with his people for "political reeducation"?😂

Once Zelensky was humiliated in EU forum where he was ignored by the most of the leaders (probably last winters). Trudeau and Macron were laughing that Zelensky is going to beg more than expected that's why his jaw was touching the ground. The same humiliation was felt by blinken in China in his last visit. Russian lawmakers on Tuesday passed a bill that bans individuals labeled as ‘foreign agents’ from seeking any political office in the country, according to a press release issued by the Federation Council, the upper chamber of Russia’s parliament. According to the bill, those deemed foreign agents will no longer be able to stand as candidates in elections at either the municipal or federal level. Such persons will also be prohibited from taking part in elections as proxies of other candidates or observers, which effectively means that anyone working for NGOs or media companies that receive funds from abroad may be excluded from the election process.
