@@FBarnacle Yep. We just didn't know it at the time. His legend status was being formed as he taught us in 1980 and beyond.

@@FBarnacle And I forgot about this- Tom taught the Oakland Crusaders from Canada and I think it was 1977- the line won top drums in prelims over Blue Devils but the corps did not make finals. So BD won drums because Oakland was sitting in the stands watching. Check out the year on corps reps. I think it was 1977. Great story though. His legacy started then and continued throughout his career.
