I mean, there were shit comedies then too, and we only remember the good ones like this because they left an impact on us. There are good comedies that have come out today, it's just that the bad ones have come out recently too and so that recency bias has made us think comedies are worse now than how they were then.

I am so happy this movie has been made!! ( with all the true genuine artists participating in it - then still with us-. Just a lot of appreciation and grace and a lot of laughs as well.

advisement. This whole film was chocked with blues legends. If you ever got to see Ray Charles live (along with the Raelettes) you got a real treat. He was one of those performers that just gives off this vibe, like he is in your living room, just haning our with you. Homey, friendly, at ease.

@@theccpisaparasite8813 I've seen Ray about a dozen times and knew his bandleader, who was from Big D.David "Fathead" Newman.Ray wasn't always friendly to his players.Ive seen him stop in the middle of a song and chew out the guitar player.He was a perfectionist and could hear a mouse pissing on a bale of cotton.Ive seen when the band is playing, waiting on him to come out, it's taken 25 minutes because he wasn't happy how someone was playing the intro.There was nobody like the Great Ray Charles!

At first when I learned that Belushi actually sang the songs, it was hard to believe. My respect only grew. The Blues Brothers is as iconic as Smokey and the Bandit. Never tired of watching either of these iconic movies.

The outdoor parts of this scene were filmed at 47th and Prairie St. I used to work in that neighborhood frequently from the early 1980s until just a few years ago and always enjoyed seeing that mural made for the movie even as it slowly fades away like an old memory... sigh.

I went to the cinema to see a movie. Back in 1990. It wasn't that one. I discovered a couple of minutes into it that I was in the wrong place but I stayed. And there were all those people singing and dancing along. What a great outcome of a stupid mistake! I have watched "Blues Brothers" about 80 times since. Every time fantastic!

The first set of drivers were injured so bad through the chase at the mall because they had the wrong blueprints as the mall was being prepared to come down. I wish the part where Ray shoots at the wall when the kid was trying to steal a Strat. Ray plays the perfect Pawn Shop owner. Listening to John Lee at the end was a nice ending

Why does this bit of movie musical history seems so authentic and FUN? 1980 was so innocent....and the Blues Bros movie just sort of targeted that demographic. But this scene sort of blended the Chicago funk and the universality of the non gentrified grunge....and again the FUN! Thanks to all involved...and I thought the Ferris Beuller cut was epic...but this is the Best!

I loved this film and I saw it several times with always as much pleasure, a rare pearl with excellent music, a message of compassion, tolerance, anti-racism and especially a great moment of excitement, joy and laughter, because from the beginning to the end, we are not bored for a single second! With good actors and the appearance of great names in music! A little hello from France!
