I just picked up the AC 70 at a nice promo price of $360 w a code from Hobotech. Current promo on 180 less than $500. Already had an EB3A. I was considering the 180, but it is beginning to be dated with just one usb C outlet. 2 ac outlets are more than enough. 1000 w inverter also plenty. If I really wanted a larger unit, the new 200L is the way to go. The 70 seemed a sweetspot to me for general backup use.

Thank you for the information. I have the AC 180 & the eb3a but it's a miss. Doesn't do everything well. I'm going to get the AC 70 as soon as i can afford the cost. Your videos are premium, again thanks and keep en coming.

Also worth mentioning are the weight of these units. The AC70 is 22 lbs while the AC180 is 36 lbs. I much rather carry the lighter AC70 than the heavier AC180.

Yep! Same. I think I mentioned that too about lugging it up and down the roof top tent

Good review. My use is solely for emergency home use. I'm looking at the AC 70 or 50 for computer backup - specially to run WiFi router and lan line phone. Then one or two more to run full size frig , LCD tv, small freezer, Amy suggests. Can either be daisy chained ?

I prob wouldn't use either of these for that. For emergency use I would look at Bluetti home systems to run all that. I'm looking into them myself. For a more affordable option Anker has their F3000 (I believe that's the model name) that you can roll and power all that

Amazon Prime Deal is $549 for the AC180. I also got an additional 5% off! Hope this helps you make a decision. I just ordered mine and the Prime Deal pushed me over the edge.

Why do i have to choose?! 😭 😆 I actually have the AC180, AC60, and some smaller units. I actually ordered the ac70 (and think it's a great option), but i cancelled my order and grabbed the ac180 on sale. For me, I wanted something I could bring with me but that also had a slightly more powerful inverter than the ac70 to run a few things at home, if need be. Eventually, a true home backup will serve much better, but it's nice that i can fall back on the ac180 in a pinch.

Thank you. That was very helpful. How noisy are the fans when they are in use, and is the 180 louder than the 70? If so is the noise difference significant?

Sounds about the same. I didn't notice any difference between the two. I THINK they have the same fan inside.

I live in a small town, and I'm on the same grid as the police station, jail, and courthouse. In the years I've lived here, since 2009, I've only had 4 power outages, and they all only lasted 1~2 hours, except this past month, when we were without power for 3 hours. I had a gas generator, but it sat so long, that when I needed it, it wouldn't start! I gave it away, and my friend had the carburetor rebuilt, and uses it for camping. I had stored it the way it was supposed to be stored, with an empty tank, and Sta-Bil in the carburetor. It still got messed up! I had thought about getting a generator that runs on propane, but there's still the problem with storing an engine powered generator. All I need, is something that'll run my Wi-Fi, TV, and fridge, for at most, 3 hours. The AC70 was on sale, for $345 on Amazon, so I got it! It'll be nice, to no longer worry, if the power goes out, that I can at least, keep my refrigerator running. I'm even thinking about getting some solar panels, to keep it charged up, if the power goes out for an extended period of time.

I'm releasing a video this week on the AC200L which has a 30amp plug for even larger devices you need to run. Here in Florida we have to think about power all the time due to storms :(
