Nice video to bring awareness about this topic. But lacking sharing the source of this research undermines the statement it tries to make. Missed opportunity ☹️

This video is not entirely factual (the "no rules" bit), fails to cite the study it references (or even to mention where it was conducted), and it doesn't mention even one thing a person can do to better differentiate between facts and opinion in writing. Also, bringing up that one news anchor somewhere said something opinionated is completely pointless if you don't say what he said exactly and why it mattered. Not to be harsh or anything, just giving you constructive criticism.

1. Although it’s a journalistic standard, we cannot find any law requiring online writers to distinguish fact from opinion in the US. If you find something to the contrary, however, please let us know! 2. A link to the Pew Research Study we cited can be found in the video description. 3. This video’s main focus is to highlight the blur between facts and opinions in digital media, but it’s also just one part of a unit on digital media literacy. To learn how to better judge online information, check out our tutorials here: edu.gcfglobal.org/en/digital-media-literacy/ 4. Regarding Walter Cronkite, the point we’re making is that opinion in the media has the power to affect change, which is what Cronkite did. But because we weren’t making a history video, the actual words he used weren’t necessary to support our point. However, you can search for ‘Cronkite Vietnam 1968’ and watch his commentary in full. He was a tremendous speaker! Hope this helps!

@@GCFLearnFree I wasn't attempting to get into a discussion with you, I was simply stating why I disliked your video. You can ignore the criticism or use it to think of ways to improve your videos, whatever you prefer.
