Love he original x5, must be the perfect road trip car. Can go anywhere on any road and in comfort. Have always owned fast sporty cars and maybe im getting old but a 4x4 like this just appeals to me right now

It’s certainly a very good car for road trips, I’ve done many in it and it never missed a beat! Yeah I love big cars and I feel like the X5 is one of the best especially around the sub £5k mark, I’ve driven a ML in fact I used to own one and I’ve driven a Porsche Cayenne and that is a very nice drive but I feel it doesn’t feel as modern as the X5 and even the VW Toureg is nice but doesn’t look the part, the only other car which I’ve also owned was a 2004 Range Rover Vogue which was brilliant but I had one which needed love and attention so for me the X5 trumps all the rest

I've had my BMW X5 E53 4.8iS V8 since, January 23, 98k miles, 20 inch tyres front and rear, had the windows tinted and had an LPG gas conversion, and it runs so sweet, just changed all the tyres too, i love my X5.

I’ve remapped (stage 1) my 3.0d e53, not much difference with initial pickup but mid range is as good as my 4.8is e53 - I own both.. one is v6 and the other is v8.. both are amazing cars to drive!

I was torn between 3.0d and the 4.4 v8 and reckon the 3.0d remapped might just be the best option for fuel economy/performance and might even keep up with the v8. Are you getting yours mapped?

Year totally , 3.0d remapped I feel would easily keep up with the V8 versions, as much as the noise isn’t quite the same but you get the fuel economy which at the moment is a big deal

I haven’t got a plan to get it mapped yet and I’m a bit uncertain as it’s done over 200k miles now and I feel like I might just give the car an easy rest of its life

@@ConversationWay I’ve got mine remapped when nearing 300K kms.. it’s been couple of months. I don’t foresee any issues as I never had any problems with engine/transmission. I didn’t want to overboard so settled with stage 1. Remapped both engine & gearbox. All I see is good pickup in the mid range. Regular oil changes and preventive maintenance is the key :)

how did you set up your grill lights?

Put the live wire to the battery and negative to the negative jump point, then passed the wires for the control switch to inside.
