Another great vid, I’m gradually going through them. What country were you in , it reminds me of my mates brother-in-law’s property at Condamine. We didn’t have GPS trackers or quads in those days only an old Ford falcon wagon with roof cut off and the doors welded shut. Great times. Keep up the great vids guys.

Rather than buy energy suppliments for the dogs, make sure a lot of pig liver is in their diet. Want to make sure the dogs don't dehydrate? Add a little milk to their water, they'll drink that even if they're not thirsty.

Watching all the "up close and personal" action, it struck me that there is another way. A "boar spear": These are essentially an earlier variation of the later Zulu Assegai; a "STABBING" spear, not a throwing one. The idea is to keep a better "distance" from the very angry porker. With a tapered, double-edged blade, some 400-500mm long and about 75mm at its widest, they certainly "leave a mark" . The beauty of the long handle; 1.5 to 1.8 metres long is the old adage: "Distance is good". There is a LOT less chance of injuring yourself or your faithful hounds when things get "lively.. "Local pattern" ones of my acquaintance have generally been made from straightened and re-tempered car leaf-spring material; 6 to 8 mm thick. Some 'blacksmithing skills" are required. "Cold Steel" apparently sell "ready to go" versions with both long and short (Assegai) style" handles A serious, heavy leather, riveted and stitched sheath is also a good idea. .Definitely for the adrenaline addicts in the field. Technique seems to vary, but it usually involves driving the razor-sharp blade completely through the chest cavity and using it to roll the pig onto its side. The protruding point then makes a handy fulcrum by which the spear can be rocked back and forth, massively extending the internal tissue trauma zone. Also a nifty prop if you are into "Medieval Faires". Roll up like Robin and Marion with a stuffed (literally and metaphorically) pig on a pole between you, carrying your spears and accompanied by the "faithful hounds". (Just hope that nobody is running "greasy pig" chase at the time, lest the "faithful hounds" become distracted) Keep up the good work; regardless!
