I'm clearly living in Crazyland, where all the commentators I once trusted are ignoring in lockstep Ryan Day's blatant case of coaching malpractice at the end of the game. After OSU had reached the ORE 28, Day failed to do what 99.9999999% of coaches would've done, the same thing NDSU did on the road against IOWA in 2016. Once in FG range, get your big-boy package in there, put the ball in the hands of your most trusted back(s) to guarantee ball security, and run the ball, bleeding the clock and getting as many more yards as you can, then kick a very makable 30-yd FG. Fielding had already made a 40-yd FG earlier in the game. The Bucks only needed a FG to win and were already in FG range. All they had to do was run the ball two or three times, then kick an easy FG. Why is every CFB commentator ignoring this?

By running the ball from the ORE 28 for a few more plays and picking up 10 extra yards with your big-boy package and a trusted back, you set up an easy 35-yd FG, five yards closer than the one he made earlier. According to a recent former LS, Fielding is a baller who routinely makes 65-yd FGs in practice. But you're right about Day not getting it done in big-time games. I don't like ALA, but you gotta admire Saban's record in talent-equated contests.

you are so right, i'm from Oregon and would have like to see the Ducks loose this one. after last years , Lanning the forth and NO against Wash, and not trusting his D, I started to vote for them to loose every game. Tired of getting my hopes up over all the years and watching foolish mistakes and players being stupid, [ showed again in this game with the spit. How sick was that }. You clearly didn’t see our rushing numbers in the 2nd half with all the injuries. Passing to the best receiver in the country was a perfectly fine idea and it worked. He just got called for a bullshit penalty that ended up costing them 29 yards.

I don't give a crap what happened on the ground beforehand. OSU is supposed to be an elite team with scholarship players in the backfield. Get your big-boy package in there, run a creative blocking scheme, and get those extra yards with the biggest back you have. Tell the guys up front to push that D-line back like their mothers' lives depended on it. Running is far less risky than passing. One of Howard's passes was nearly intercepted, too. You Buckeye fans are so obsessed with your "stars." Elite teams aren't afraid of "the best receiver in the country" and, in fact, love to challenge the very stars you guys think are untouchable. Day also could've run a trick play. If you're foolishly absolutely committed to the pass, get your slot receiver or TEs involved and make a short pass guaranteed to pick you up five yards. Then, perhaps after doing that again or running, have Fielding make another 40-yd FG; he'd already made one earlier in the game. Why are you Buckeye fans giving Ryan Day a pass?

In both of our recent losses to Oregon, Bucks have 0 sacks. In the 4 losses you showed on the screen 2022 TTUN, 2022 Georgia, 2023 TTUN, and Saturday's loss to Oregon, the Bucks have only 5 sacks. When I think of elite defenses, I would think they should average at least 3-4 per game. Not enough pressure on the QBs. Knowles is not good enough in the big games and Day is only 2-6 against top teams. Why can't they win the big games? I don't expect them to win them all but at least you could be 4-4 or 5-3? Standards should be better for The Ohio State University! Silver lining for me is I am hoping they get to go on a revenge tour in the playoffs and beat Bama, Clemson, Georgia in addition to Texas(I just hate em) to win it all. Hopefully they can do that!

As a die hard Miami Hurricanes fan it's against my religion to root for the buckeyes, but you guys need to relax, you have a better team than Oregon, but they won their national championship game Saturday, you have bigger fish to fry.... Sometimes a loss is the best medicine for complacency and it happened nice and early in the season, and you still have the most talented roster in College Football and will probably win the national championship... We will be the National Champs this year. Trust the players and Coaches to get this done. We have everything we need and this loss by one on the road will help us. We need better fan support at home. Students are late and leave early even in Big 10 games with perfect weather. Lots of Old people sit on their hands and don’t even cheer loud during the game. We need a rowdy home Shoe atmosphere for our games to help the team win big home games. We want Oregon again in BIG10 champ game in Indy on turf in dome.

We don't have killer instincts, at least on D. We definitely don't know how to shed blocks and tackle and DBs can't cover their own grandmas. Offense with Howard, EE, JJ, Q and Henderson is unstoppable unless you are in a zebra shirt.

They should have RAN the ball after the Ebuka catch that got the ball to the Oregon 28.. they should have RAN there best running play to get some more yards and center the ball u had to timeout left it was the 34 seconds run all the time out make Oregon use the timeout.. then kicked the field goal cause the nex play or the play after the offensive pass interference call that was the game

I like Cardales take. In the end the guys on the field decide who wins, by thier play. But, and its a big but, how much did that trick of the 12 players on the field affect this game ? So yes, it all matters, coaching and players both, and can certainly for sure change outcomes…let us talk about that 12 man thing more, and the fact where we were at before the pass to J J. ..look at the down and yardage there please…cause one guy said why not run it a couple times, we had timeouts, and if we get just 5-6 yds. we kick a 40 yarder …is that true ? and if so then it comes down to Kelly and Day maybe ?..

You don't need a TD, so why are you trying to get one? Doesn't Day know how to add? All you need is an easy FG, and you're already in FG range. Why aren't you getting as many more yards as you can while bleeding the clock and taking care of the ball? The best way to do both is by running the ball. Why is every commentator ignoring this, giving Day a free pass? OSU could've and should've won that game. Howard fell down twice with no pressure, two drop snaps no pressure, two under thrown balls no pressure. Howard has no deep ball. Howard lost clock management. What else could of Howard do? Now you people bad talked McCord and McCord was a freshman. McCord was rated 2nd best in the Big Ten. At one time 1rst in the Big Ten at the beginning of the season. Day ran him out of town.
