It’s induction heating, more like an induction cooktop or charger, not so much like a microwave.

Thank you for the correction
@jerrycube62445 жыл бұрын
Yeah if it was microwave based working near the gas tank the channel might need to be renamed Lone Tool in Action with Eric carrying on alone... 😜

Definitely worth the money as a mechanic! I'm a mobile tech so I will be investing in this. Thanks for the quick video.

What if I told you you can make a loop inductor just like that for under $50? If more people knew how to make these that company would be crapping their pants..

I hate to ask such a stupid question but this is the first time I've come across something I didn't get off without an impact. You heat the head of the bolt or the metal around it?
@dennysmith22915 жыл бұрын
Nice video guys. How is the new shop coming along. 👍

how well would it work on seized spark plugs- aluminum heads /steel spark plug threads?
@iDgafY02 жыл бұрын
I don’t think induction systems work with aluminum.

It's always a good idea to apply some penetrating oil in conjunction with the heat.

The Bolt Bust is just a copy of the original Mini-Ductor from Induction Innovations which is an old design released in 2004. They replaced it years ago with the Mini-Ductor 2 which is smaller with better economics and electronics. The Mini-Ductor 2 was just recently been replaced by the Mini-Ductor Venom which has an angled grip and quick change induction coil mechanism. The Bolt Buster is 2 generations behind the competition.

Rusted Nuts a great punk band name!!
@eosjoe5655 жыл бұрын
I don't think anything bad happens if you touch the bolt. That's why the coil end has insulation on it. I saw a guy using one of those to loosen frozen lug nuts and it was magical!
@eosjoe5655 жыл бұрын
The other advantage is you don't have the peripheral heat damage like when using a torch. This can heat a frozen bolt/nut without burning off all the surrounding paint. A bit pricey for a DIY guy but for a shop or garage it can be a money maker.

The Snap On one is cheaper and it doesn't look like a tube of caulk.
@adamaj745 жыл бұрын
They work well. The Snap-on guy keeps sells this one on his truck: kzbin.info/www/bejne/ram1epushdyFa80 I'm an industrial electrician and it's also the same principle our mechanics use to get out bolts and pins, etc., though they use other heating methods because of the size of the machinery they're working on.
@russwebster33025 жыл бұрын
That looks so much easier that using a torch. #TIACREW
@theone68055 жыл бұрын
All of these bolts and nuts from this video did not need to be heated by this expensive tool to come out. A simple BP blaster spray will work just fine.
@CC-qd6xm4 жыл бұрын
By the acetylene tanks better, much cheaper.

Please read the owners manual before airing your videos, very often looks like Dan (the one with the hat) doesn't know a thing about anything the public wa te to know some specs about the tools that you are presenting. I love the show and would like to see that a better product.

This is the first video I've watched on your channel. If you guys dont know or dont care about the mechanics of tools then you shouldn't be trying to educate people. Fucking microwaves.
