My grandmother worked here back in the 70's. My step dad is a McCoy... There is a reason why Ypsilanti Michigan, "Ypsitucky." Many people from Kentucky moved here. My other grandmother worked at the Bomber Plant and was a Rosie Riviter 🤗 My elementary school was right across the street from this restaurant, it was called Woodruff Elementary then. I was born and raised in Ypsilanti 🤗

@@313girl5 hmmm.. That's strange cause the only buildings across from the Bomber are Klucks hamburger drive in and right next to that is Marsh plating warebouse and next to that is a carwash and restaurant and a little further down is DAIRY Queen. All these places have been there for 50 years or longer. I've never known a school to be there I'm not even familiar with N. Park the side street closest to the Bomber is N. Grove that's also been there for years.

@@howierichard5238 That's strange. I want you to Google the Bomber Restaurant and look at the map. Is the Bomber not on S. Park and Michigan Ave? Klucks is the next street up on Grove. The Bomber is closer to the school than it is Klucks. You can see the Bomber from the school.

WOW... 1932 opened. I grew up in Norwayne Project - built to house the Rosie the Riviters who worked at the bomber plant @ Willow Run Airport. Our family got in because my dad was in the Air Force in 1951 - 53. He was in Army during WWII ! I was born in 1947 and I know we lived there when I was age 2... so 1949. and now the neighborhood is a Designated Historic District and now called Westland. I attended that celebration where a B 24 fly over was done..,..by the Pilots from the Yankee Air Museum at Willow Run. It was a very moving celebration for me. I'll be going to the resturant for the FIRST time this Sunday. 11-20-22. I never knew about it until I was invited by my nephew. He is taking me, celebrating my 75th Birthday. 🎂✈🛬 * We didn't move out til I was in 7th grade (Adam's Jr High); but I returned as an adult with my own family in 1968. I can't wait to see The Bomber and eat there. 🙂
