Before I forget: A Wizard’s Guide to Defensive Baking has incredibly niche magic and one of the supporting character's magic is the control dead horses. It's both disturbing and amusing. MC has bread dough magic. Solid five stars from me.

Kinda yeah. It's cozy but has scary-suspense-ish moments (but it's middle grade so never too heavy.)

Hmm . . . Entertaining review. (though it made me frantically review my current characters’ personalities in my head!) Sounds like “meh” and “fine” mean “vapid” and “clunky,” though : ) Also like this was another Cool Idea in Search of a Story.

I’m starting to feel that “needs an audiobook” requirement. I’m really picky though. Like Colour of Dragons, the audiobook I tried listening to was soooo boring. But Little Theived has a GREAT audiobook imo

I hate the waste of potential imagine if this happened regularly. Do they have zombie communities? Can she do it more than once? The second time is the bond lessor? Can a witch turn this into a job? If someone dies and can thier body be brought to a bone witch like you would a dry visit? Do they suffer from rotting or decay? Okay she's ostracised, is there a community for bone witch's? Are they killed? Does she have to hide out in the woods? What other magics are there do? Can the undead have jobs? Will they contaminate food and water if they touch it do they spread disease? What is death? Can they tell people what death is like do they remember?

I felt like this book had a lot of missed potential and forced trope issues. I liked some things but ended up being too annoyed by the ending to keep going.

I'm sorry that book turned out to be a bit overrated. Question, when reading books for reviews, would you rather do absolute terrible garbage books, or meh mediocre? Lately I've come to the sad conclusion, that i have semi low standards when it comes to books I read, granted this past year, I read one terrible book and one "meh" book, but I also am not overly critical about what I read, if I enjoy it, that's good enough for me.

Honestly, hate reading is more fun than being bored, so if I had to pick it would be to read something I hate. That said, we all hope for something we can love!
