Not sure why I got recommended this song, but I'm subscribing because I'm starting a pirate campaign for my D&D group next month.

Thank You! Perhaps because it is inspired by a D&D campaign ? My character - Peacock the Bard - got the (homebrew) artifact "The Devils Fiddle", a and is bound to Mephistophels because of this.. and now Mephesitophels demands that he play on his Motto Party - with the Motto "undead Pirates".. So.. this songs may be known in Ferun ;)

I hope they have.. Mephistopheles wouldn`t be amused, if I bore his guests ;) (but I really love the Idea of @derskalde4973 for a ghostship - plot... )

This actually sounds like an interesting take on the subject. A cursed, undead pirate crew, craving to feel the pleasures of the flesh once more so much, that they attacks ships, not for treasure, but for the people aboard. Imagine, setting the scene, when the PCs first hear about them, or when they first witness a ship that fell victim to them coming ashore, with the crew and the passengers appearing gaunt, weak, and deathly pale, despite a tropical climate, and having something unnerving about them, and feeling a ghostly chill at the touch of their cold skin due to lingering necromantic energies from the undead pirates. Instead of attacking and plundering for trasure, they capture ships, forcing their companionship on the poor mortals aboard the ship in a desperate attempt to feel alive again, indulging in food and drink and all the other stuff. They don't even have to do this in a creepy way either. Maybe they just want to sit around, possibly their arm around a pretty lass, drinking and eating and joking with people, like you would in a bar or Tavern, trying to feel the warmth of living flesh, the taste of food, and the warmth and inclusion of a Community, inadvertently taking away the mortals life energy, while whatever they consume either falls through their undead bodies or literally turns to ash in their mouths. And while they may not mean to harm those aboard the captured ships, it's still, to some degree, traumatic to them. Maybe the ships in the region at some point start to take sacrificial passengers aboard, like criminals, prostitutes, etc, in an attempt to persuade the pirates, if they attack the ship, to leave the Crew and normal passengers alone, or at least better off. Or maybe the things they consume turn into gold or something similar, which the pirates, having no need for this, leave it to the captured ships as a form of reparation, and ne'er-do-wells on land, hearing about this start raiding and kidnapping people to provide to the pirates in an attempt to quickly get rich. You could take this in several different ways to create an adventure out of it!

That`s the spirit I love ! Perhaps - when they are banned - they can not return for 111 years - and the legends about them are only remembered in some tavern songs sung along the coast ? Seeming to be nothing more than a bard mixing up some sailor's yarn with singing about touching girls - things that are pupular in sailors' taverns.. ..but then, there are these strange sailors at the table to the right..

It`s also the most successful.. My favorite at the Moment is the newest one - perhaps because i love slowfox-dancing (it feels a little bit like flying), and i love the whisteling.. (but i know it`s very special.. and wouldn`t rise so high..)
